KU fan here, coming in peace. We hoped to join the Blueblood Regional next weekend, but it definitely wasn't our year. If you are coming to KC and have extra time, I hope you will check out two unique museums in KC: the World War I museum near the Crown Center area (https://www.theworldwar.org/) and the Negro League Baseball Museum (https://nlbm.com/). If you stay in one of the Crown Center hotels, please know that our awesome and free streetcar goes from 25th & Main Street right up to a block or so from the Sprint Center. The Sprint Center has one of those open air areas with huge screens that fans will gather to watch the other games or if they haven't scored tickets. Lots of bars and restaurants near there. The Country Club Plaza is the very nicest area in KC with more hotels and restaurants. Have fun!

Joe's Kansas City is the best. Some of the charm is standing in line at the original location, a gas station. If you prefer wait service and a full bar, Jack Stack Barbecue is great and has a Plaza and Freight House (between Crown Center and downtown, and again a few blocks from a street car stop) locations. The two oldest and more famous are Arthur Bryants (near the Negro League Museum) and Gates, but this Kansas Citian feels like they have lost a step in recent years. And if you want to start an argument, just ask 2 locals for their BBQ recommendations. You can use your off day for a Tour de Barbecue!

I’ll be curious how the fan turnout is for each school. Long drives for all schools to KC.

Kansas city locals really support sporting events. Its not a massive city but they show out when they have events like these. I would expect a ton of local college bball fans to go to the game.

If that happens....they all root against kentucky. For whatever reason, every time i bring up being a kentucky fan people freak out with hatred for uk and calipari. It gets old.

Just don’t get stuck there on a connecting flight. Worst airport in this country for connections by far. Not even close.

Anyone who thinks Kansas City is nice must of never left a farm or seen a real city. I’m sorry kc is **** hole. Old as hell and small. Nothing memorable about that city and I’m not just saying it to be an ***.

I've lived in 17 states and 5 countries.... and "old" and "small" can be some of the greatest places on the planet. Let's not act like KY is some urban hot spot.. it's not.

Better than Kansas/Missouri? IMO, yes.

But there are way better places to live and have fun over either.

What about Arthur Bryant's? I have always wanted to try it.

Not a huge fan. The meat itself is good, but the sauce is much different than the other bbqplaces and its not my thing. Other people love it, just depends on your tastes i guess. Q39 and jack stack are great sit down bbq restaraunts.

This is just mean spirited and untrue. You can like other places better but kansas city has some great people and is a great place to live. Especially the suburbs.

Agreed. Omaha may be only airport ive been to thats worse. Fortunately they just voted to build a new terminal in the next few years so hopefully that helps a bit.

Out of curiosity, what are some good cities in your opinion?
For a city kc size ?
Portland
Seattle
Milwaukee
Boise
Nashville
Denver

All far far far miles ahead of kc. Kc is garbage lets be honest. I’m not saying it to be a jerk but there is nothing to do.

Good list. I mean we obviously just disagree on the nothing to do part in kc. You obviously had a bad experience which is fine, it happens. I would definitely agree with you that most of those cities have more going on. Personally Love Nashville and Denver. Milwaukee is usually considered one of the worst places to live in America so i would definitely put kc ahead of them.
