Get well and we look forward to you having a productive career with the Hawks. Life is full of peaks and valleys, it is how to handle them that helps you reach the top.
Maybe. It'll be interesting for sure if this back problem lingers for more than a few more weeks. It's nice that Jan has declared Emely injured so she can claim a medical redshirt and have that year of eligibility for whomever she plays for next year
To get a medical redshirt (hardship waiver) in NCAA Women's Basketball (WBB), the player must have a season-ending injury that occurs in the first half of the season, and they must have participated in no more than 30% of the total scheduled games before the injury, with formal medical documentation required for the NCAA waiver process. It's nice that Jan has declared Emely injured so she can claim a medical redshirt and have that year of eligibility for whomever she plays for next year
I'd like to see Deal or Houston get some more run at the 3 if those minutes are available. We are a little light at the 3 right now.
Houston I agree with, Deal maybe, If you get Emely to buy in, other than Heiden she has the highest ceiling on the team. Now it comes with some warts but she provides something that only Chit Chat can resemble, but it very different from a 5ft 4inch player and one that is 6 foot. Deal has a very good shot, the quickness is just not there (it is getting better).I'd like to see Deal or Houston get some more run at the 3 if those minutes are available.
I'd love to have her back, but even more for next year than for this current season. She has so much raw talent, but it's still very raw and she needs the development that comes from staying within one program for a few years. It doesn't sound like she got much direction at UCF last year, so this is her first year where the emphasis has been on a team system rather than isolation style street ball. If she can learn to harness her talent and play within the system of the team, I still think she can develop into a 1st round draft pick. If she transfers again, it's only going to hurt her developmentIt appears most of us wish to have Emely back. Be careful of what you wish for.

The documentation better be pretty good for the back injury if thats the case. I think Emely tested the waters like I had stated before and came to the hard reality this is likely her best option. Likely had a talk with Jan and they are going to give it a go. My guess is they will try her in the lineup in the next week or two. We are a little light at the 3 right now.
