Not sure I follow. It seems like two entirely separate arguments when it comes to global food supply and how everyone else could be impacted by unnecessary policy. If you’re dialed into the world of Ag, they’re intelligent enough to pivot and change pretty quickly as needed… it is after all their livelihood. California is doing it now with Almond production.

I wouldn’t make the mistake of underestimating the American Farmer. They’ll do what they need to do to be successful either way.
As long as we don’t continue to let the Chinese commies buy up all our farmland we’ll be fine… ****

That’s on the land owners (corp controlled land owners mostly and private growers alike). Unfortunately, greed plays a role. Let’s hope there’s a healthy amount of government involvement and private stewardship to keep the U.S. intact as the greatest Ag region in the world.

Money is always going to be a driver. Keep our local growers/producers happy and prosperous (and not give them a reason) and we should be okay. American farmers first and foremost… always!!

That’s it from me… it’s common sense. There’s a reason China is trying to buy up massive land volume. I hope the powers that be aren’t stupid enough to realize the end game.

May be true. HOWEVER a lot of times true buyer is unknown at the time of purchase. Usually just a shell company

Exactly why we need to know how much those dipshits actually control. It needs more oversight and due diligence all around. If any land (or anything for that matter) is sold to a foreign entity… the U.S. needs to know 100% and be aware.

If you research it most states have a limit as to how much land can be owned by foreign entities, generally 3% or less. Most of those are Canadian.

I do find it unnerving that the Chinese do buy land near military bases. that’s no coincidence

The Chinese should be able to buy the same percentage of land as an American can buy in China, which is 0%, since their government owns everything.

The powers that be are that stupid. One day, in the not too distant future, we will wake up to find China controls this crumbling empire. There are 10's of 1,000's of military age Chinese men in pockets all around this country, just waiting for the word. If you don't know that, then you don't know anything about reality.

At the end of the day, China doesn't want your house or mine. They want to raze them and grow food. The upcoming food shortage in China threatens their entire governments' existence. Their inability to feed their own people is their main threat.

In case you haven't noticed, this country has systematically been eliminating protein from our diets. How many cattle, sheep and hogs have been slaughtered by unknown causes? How many millions of eggs were destroyed by bogus claims of bird flu?

Food is energy.
