The refs totally ruined the game. Not saying we win but a lot closer. The Pi called that set up your 3rd TD was bogus and we scored at least twice maybe 3 times from the 1 in the 3rd that we were robbed on. The coaches pulled it up on film. We were in!

Nope. I thought maybe on the 4th try but like the third try he nearly fumbled the ball or we would have scored, you'd have to have been on our side to see it. The first three times definitely didn't score the 4th try was close but he ref had the direct line of sight. As far as the PI usually when you knock the receiver down before the ball gets there they usually call it 🙄
Thing is if the QB had seen it he had two open on his left especially one because the defender slipped and fell it would have been a shorter pass but he would have had open field.

Y'all may have got in not sure. Definitely looked close on 4th down can't argue on that. But the PI was pretty obvious man our receiver had a step on y'all's back and he gave him a good push in the back. Regardless that only moved the ball to our 48 y'all still could've stopped us but couldn't. Owen is a good team and getting better every year. Best of luck the rest of the way

We did get in and the PI was on 3rd down and 13. He was not pushed. There feet got tangled up which is not PI. Both players were stumbling. If no call you are punting to Owen only up 14-7

If only ifs and buts were candy and nuts . or if you had a run defense.
You didn’t have a run defense. Owen ran on yall all night. We had about 330 yards of offense against you vaulted defense of 16 which includes the 5 refs who are from Mitchell County

I didn't see much a running defense from ether team I don't know what Mitchell's was but they ran all over the Owen D and their pass D isn't much better. About 80 yards of the 330 was Owen's first TD that really should have been a lost but poor tackling. But Owen better be able to run the ball because they have no passing game whatsoever. As far as the refs comment that's just a sore losers comment.

What happened to Starmount defense
You gotta be disciplined to stop what EW does offensively. Starmount was not ready for it obviously. Between all the blown assigmnents by Starmount and great reads by the EW QB… and consistently great offensive play-calling from the EW coaches. The Cardinals steadily gained confidence the further the game went along. Seems they felt that the Rams couldn’t stop anything they were doing…. And it looked like the Rams believed it as well. Two teams that really couldn’t stop each other… EW put pressure on the Rams into feeling they had to score every time they got they ball.

You're spot on. What was EW doing differently than they have in the past in your opinion? I did notice the QB crouching down real low behind the center and it looked like they were having a hard time seeing the ball. I'd be curious to know what Pardue's thoughts are on it. Did Walker change something up?

I also think the unsportsmanlike penalties from Starmount early on stemmed from a lack of respect for EW. They thought they would just bully them and beat them up and it wouldn't matter how many penalties they got because they would still win. They hopefully got humbled after this one

Honestly the Qb’s stance has been that low all year…kinda strategic from what i’ve noticed. He explodes out that stance and it’s full speed ahead while he’s steadily reading the defense and not losing speed during his reads. Seems the kick off recovery out of the gate by the Cardinals and the punch in score out the gate really set the tone. No one has punched the Rams in the mouth like that other than Mt.Airy! Maybe the loss to West Wilkes and the lackluster uninspired way that the Cardinals played that week lulled Starmount to sleep and maybe assumed EW was gonna lay down and maybe thought EW didn’t have what it takes to hang with them(honestly a lot of us didn’t.) Once EW scored a couple of times with relative ease… I feel the Rams knew they were in trouble and in for a DOGFIGHT!… Both teams played like this was for all the marbles… Ew gained a lot of respect after Friday night. Seems the Rams have always had it. EW is a program on the rise with A Great Head Coach and Coaching Staff!!

Spot on. We will see if that carries over to the Alleghany game next Friday. Also curious to see how Starmount responds against West Wilkes. They should beat West handily. These games will most likely decide the conference.

Definitely not so sure of Starmount beating WW handily. Especially if their run defense falters as bad as it did against East Wilkes. The Herman kid from WW will have a field day if it does!
