Sorry guys. It’s been a week full of birthdays, anniversaries, Fall baseball, and… well, y’all know the drill all too well.

Things were a little tame last week for the Zona game, but what can you do when SixPackers have to spend more time worrying about what energy drink will keep them awake than what to throw on the grill? I know y’all will be back in full force this weekend with some Cajun inspired cuisine. Let’s hear about it!

Sitting on the beach with the faint smell of coconut oil roasted keister. Drinking Dos Equis. Probably have lightly roasted MS bosoms for a late dinner tonight. Why do all these people not have a job? All these 17er look essential to me.

My devilishly good menu, see what I did there, will include:
One 17 pound injected brisket cooked over night tonight.
Homemade spicy and honey bbq sauce.
Homemade corn casserole prepared by Mrs. Morningstar.

You really are Beelzebub aren't you? If you start crowing about fat side down, I'm taking back my eternal soul I traded you for that night with the thick girl from Belzoni back in college.

I just prefer it that way. Sorry if that offends some kind of rule on here I did not know about. I am new after all, I could have just soaked it in Dales that seems to be a popular answer around here.

As to the soul that I have to keep just given that I know you had a good time.

Imma throw a couple whole chickens on the grill. Shred those up and probably make some BBQ nachos or chicken case adidas.

Smoking a bologna chub and some chicken andoullie. The andoullie is going in some jambalaya. Then either grilling or blackening some grouper fillets.

Shrimp and Andouille Gumbo. Made the stock out of veggies and shrimp shells. Gonna make the Roux tomorrow morning around 9, then finish the Gumbo by 12 noon.

UPDATE- got it finished by 11:00 a.m. Combination of 2-3 recipes on the internet, my wife watchin a Youtube video, and me substituting Sage for Oregano.View attachment 25304

It’s gonna be a Larceny afternoon like it was 2 years ago. I’m trying to figure out what I’m gonna do tomorrow, but tonight is watching a Louisville team gash FSU running the football unlike LSU did.
Night Court bitches!

I had been hunting for Larceny barrel proof for two years, and when I made my usual Friday afternoon stop at the liquor store a few weeks back, lo and behold... they had 3 bottles sitting on the shelf. Bought all three for I think around $35 ea, and for that price, I'd put it up against just about anything in the <$50 category.

Got groceries for both meals, but can’t decide between two of my favorite Cajun dishes to make
Red beans with shrimp and grit fritters
Or
Bacon wrapped chicken thighs stuffed with cheese and seafood boudin

Awesome grab. You'll enjoy it immensely. I'm guessing the store mis labeled the pricing as well. Must have thought it was regular Larceny. MSRP has been $50 for the past few years and they bumped it up to $60 this year. At $60 it's good value and at $35 you got the best value in all of whiskey and it's not debatable.

Wow, now you’ve got me thinking that I must be misremembering the price point, but I swear I don’t remember it being anymore than $35-40. Almost enough to make me want to hunt down the receipt. Almost…

Whatever the case, it is fan 17ing tastic. I’ve had a few glasses over ice during the last month, and it’s such a good mix of flavor, burn, and buzz

A few games into 2014, the wife made chili. Whichever game it was, we won. After careful deliberation it was determined that the the chili indeed played a significant role in said victory. So we made some sort of chili each weekend after, until Bama.

well, the wife wanted chili last weekend, despite it not being chili weather. We won, so felt obligated to do it today. I’ve made a double batch of Jalapeño Popper Chicken Chili. It’s a little labor intensive but damn good. And it’s cooler this weekend.

https://realhousemoms.com/jalapeno-popper-chicken-chili/

I have hereby proclaimed that any chili that results in a victory, may, can, and will be frozen(if sufficient quantities remain) and will retain their powers for the remainder of the current season.

ed: to be clear..we DID cook chili for the ‘14 Bama game. Might have not after that.

drinks: Victory Brewing Sour Monkey of course. And some Stone Brewing
