@bac2therac I need a pretty solid guess for tomorrow (Tues) in the Hudson County area. Looks to be like a washout starting sometime in the AM and continuing on-and-off all day, right? Softball season winding down, battle for playoff position(s), lots of rescheduling due to rain/field conditions this past month.

Tomorrow daylight should be okay with exception of isolated showers. Its the evening where we could see widely scattered showers

Seeing some more optimistic forecasts for Thursday popping up but in no way are we out of the woods but at least now there is a chance. These forecasts have been shifting every few hours so expect more change
These thunderstorms could pop up at any time and are impossible to pinpoint when and where they will strike. All I'm hoping for at this point is no lightning delays
Fingers crossed...some models want to move the front thru overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning with rain wrapping up then and sun breaking out. Lets see if the trend continues

Right now theyre calling for stereotypical Jersey summer weather tomorrow...high 80s with heat indices in the 90s, 55% chance of storms.
Still some uncertainty on nailing things down but cautiously optimistic. Today will be cloudy and cooler. Overnight we see showers once again as the warm front pushes north. Those showers may linger into Thursday morning. After that it gets very warm and humid Thursday afternoon with some sun poking out and high in the mid to upper 80s with heat index in the low to mid 90s. The question is whether we get any additional storm later in the afternoon or evening. Forecast trends say no but there is a difference in modelling so hopefully that can be nailed down later in a favorable direction today so peeps can tailgate and enjoy the game with confidence

12a-9am Overnight shower chance should linger a bit in morning. Temps in upper 60s
9-12pm mostly cloudy with some brightening and breaks of sun. Temp rising thru the 70s nearing 80
12pm-3pm Partly Sunny becoming very warm and humid. Temps rising to mid and perhaps upper 80s with rising dewpoints topping 70
3-6pm continuing quite warm and humid as we radar watch to see any potential shower or thunderstorm development. Currently modeled as chance but not likely with the chance 30-40%. Tomorrow morning forecast could give greater clarity. Temps remain in the mid 80s and peeps be sweatin during their tailgate especially if sun is present rather than clouds. Sunscreen is advised for early tailgaters. Dress lightly. For those who know..Rutgers tuxedos

There are indeed weather concerns that rightly may keep some people away, including that a forecast is only that.

Meh. We are a dying breed of diehards. They dropped like flies in the Ash error, and Greg has taken too long to deliver some juice.

Frankly, given the record, the competition we will never catch up with, the travel and the scheduling, Rutgers would have been much better off in the ACC. IDGAS about how the ACC conference is "inferior" or "dying." It's a better fit for Rutgers athletics. Academics is a different story. We would probably get more people to home games when we play Syracuse, Miami, BC, Virginia Tech, and and even the schools like Duke, UNC, NC State, Virginia, Georgia Tech, Clemson and Wake Forest, because more NJ kids go to those schools than to schools in the midwest and California. We would be spending less and making more. Show me where I am wrong.
They are not excuses, just more attractive, better and/or important alternatives for many people. One is work, which is more important than a lousy game against a lousy opponent. Also, hard to schedule a tailgate given the start time, which I agree sucks, but we are stuck with it. Food options in SHI are lame and overpriced. We will likely leave a little after halftime to grab dinner in East Brunswick. If they are still turning the production into a nonstop blast of crappy music and sound bites, we will probably leave earlier We are terrible fans.
Add to that this humidity makes sitting in the stands in the sun pretty miserable. Dew point is currently over 70 in Bergen. A later start would have helped.
I agree with you. The ACC would bring more competitiveness and attractiveness overall. To me its just a better fit and i have no problem saying it
Because Illinois has a Thursday game, and there is NO way they would have made Illinois start at 5 p.m. local time for a 6 p.m. ET kickoff, Rutgers is relegated to this time slot. Also, given Rutgers' mediocrity and Illinois doing well, BTN was likely incline to give them a prime time slot versus Rutgers getting the dinner time slot.
Yet our head coach stubbornly thinks "we belong" in the Big Ten. Maryland is equally delusional. And so is UCLA, and perhaps USC. USC is obviously in the best shape of those 4, but like Nebraska, their days of glory are behind them. The PAC 12 was grossly mismanaged, which led to its demise.
We have fans who think we will "get there" in the B1G. You and I agree that I would rather see us finish at or near the top of a "lesser" ACC conference than be sitting at the bottom of the B1G year after year. With all the media money coming in for Rutgers and Maryland, both schools find their debt growing year over year. It's an idiotic money grab and not great for the fans.
Would much rather head to away games in Virginia, the Carolinas and Florida than the cold and boring midwest. Of all the B1G cities we have visited, the only great experience with the city was UW and Seattle. B1G schools are in boring midwest locales.
