Several rain chances exist during the extended period, and there
is some potential for heavy rains both Saturday night and again
Sunday night. The stalled frontal boundary, combined with a short
wave ejecting out of the central/southern rockies could lead to
numerous showers/storms. Precipitable water values could be around 2" Saturday
night, and the GFS is suggesting rainfall could be excessive,
although it's just outside our quantitative precipitation forecast window for this forecast, but
it's certainly something we're watching closely.

Saturday/Sunday...by mid-to-late Saturday afternoon storms
chances appear once again as the mid-level capping inversion is
overcome as the first of many shortwaves moves into the area.
Saturday night is more or less a repeat of Friday night. The only
difference is, that at the moment, the severe weather threat looks
a bit muted when compared to Friday night. The heavy rainfall
threat continues with deeper moisture in place. Expect this
unsettled weather to continue for Sunday, with perhaps a break in
the morning as our area is in between shortwaves. From tonight
through Sunday, rainfall totals could exceed 2 to 3 inches. The
highest amounts appear to be focused over southwest Iowa.

I was totalling up the forcasted amounts for my area and it's pushing 4 inches. We shall see. They totally missed it all summer for us. Maybe the weather is getting more predictable.

Gosh I’m really sorry for trolling this board with topics such as ‘favorite beer’ and ‘game day weather’ etc. My bad

How dare you sir. How dare you!

Looking forward to a tequila thread from you though.

On a serious note, I appreciate the weather info. Great stuff

Has the weather changed for today, or are they still saying rain and lots during the game?
