I'd say travel is not advised in around that area 2nite. Winds here just north of Bowling Green have been gusting to 50mph. I'd say accidents are mounting.

I have a feeling they will be sum rescued off the interstate tonight. Not to mention all the early birds that think they can't miss work tomorrow and don't give the crews time to clean roads.

I went and filled my truck up and a gas can for the generator. I've never felt a cold like this. Ever.
I have up in Duluth Minnesota years ago will truck driving. Was minus -19 with 20 mph gusts made it feel 42 below. Could only stand outside a few minutes at a time. This may be worse I just got off work and drove 22 miles home. Visibility most of the time was 20 feet maybe less. Live North of Dayton Ohio.

Lol, you southern folk and your winter weather!

If you want to see what REAL winter weather is all about, type in Sand Lake Michigan, where I’m atšŸ˜‚

Some do. Healthcare and first responders have to be there. They really can’t miss work

Yeah, I remember using a hair dryer to warm up the cows udder before milking.
Are you serious? I know someone that was north of Miami that said it was 19 or 20 in 1983. 2004 and 1989 were also extremely cold.

I just went to start my truck and car that I have in the garage and obviously not a heated garage. I walk by the car and my arm bumped into the antenna which is plastic, and broke it into.

No. But it was cold. Either 83 or 84, I saw-28 on our thermometer before I went to bed, next morning it was-10. Heat wave overnight.

But I do know you get the lake effect on the western side of the state. I used to live in the Detroit area. It definitely snowed more than it does in Louisville but not as much as I thought did before I moved there.

Have to go to extended family Christmas today. Can’t believe these goobers won’t just cancel it. I ain’t dying so a few little brats can open some presents. Worst thing about Thanksgiving and Christmas are relatives.

By the way, it was like -6 back in 2015 (I think that was the year) in Shepherdsville. Dont think the wind was as bad. I worked 3rd shift and walked out to a dead battery. Was not fun trying to get it started while I had ice forming all over my mustache.

Yep, I'm considered " essential " so I have to be here. Work at UK and live in Richmond. I got off at 6 last night, drove home, showered and packed an overnight bag. Now I'm wondering if the roads will be decent enough to travel safely home, because I sure as hell do not want to spend the night again.

My boss told me to be remote. I’m taking his advice. The cold is a killer.
Good thing the Cats aren't playing. You always say I'm done in the game thread. And I'm going outside for a while.
In all seriousness everyone stay safe and indoors if possible.

Christmas Eve 1983, Kentucky played Illinois in Champaign. The officials could not make the game because of the weather. Illinois was really good that year and Kentucky beat them there, and then later beat them in Rupp to go to the final four. I have no idea why Kentucky was playing on Christmas Eve, it was a Saturday though. I remember listening to that game. It was not on television, for me anyway.

I spent the first 18 years of my life in Detroit. If I never see another snowflake, that is okay....

I said that to say this..... I'd take a Detroit winter over yours anytime...

Bless you....
