Dude find ou
I wish I could remember who it was bashing Allen at beginning of season...gonna have to do some digging.

Couldn't be happier for the kid.

Kentucky only wins titles when they have a big contributor from the state. Dontaie may just be that guy before he leaves.
dude Find out would be int to see who actually is exposed and who really understands the game

He did look lost and uncomfortable. My issue was so did the other freshman. I understand Cal’s strategy for elite freshman development over the season but after losing the first few he should have been trying a bunch of combinations. If we’re gonna lose 6 in a row see what you got on your bench, not everyone is elite in practice but lots of gamers turn it on under the lights.
EVERYONE is going to look lost & uncomfortable in the first 10 minutes of action they've EVER played in college. That's exactly why you have to let kids get meaningful minutes to lay through that & shake off the jitters & get comfortable. That is ESPECIALLY true of SHOOTERS

You’re clueless. Allen was an elite, multi level scorer before he got to UK. Cal tucked him behind his draft picks and sacrificed games for the benefit of 2 guys that were playing AAU ball. Allen has had the ability to do this all season.

But you keep on being the Cal excuse maker that you are. Allen just proved how ridiculously bad Cal is and here you are trying to act like Allen just learned how to play.

What's your excuse for what Baker and Juzang are doing now? Come on man, wake up.
Juzang is avg 11 a game. What's your point.
Confidence is the biggest factor on a basketball floor and he was spot on with his assessment.
Baker is avg 14 a game at 22 years old. Yea he's killing it

Love it, Allen gets his shot and delivers big time. He better never be a DNP coaches decision. Best offensive player on the team.

You think 4* kids averaging 11 and 14 per game is bad? WTF? Baker dropped 29 points the other day.
Yeah, Boston averages 14ppg, but he takes 25 shots to do it and it's cost is several games.

You truly are clueless.

Allen can contribute right now. He's good enough to get a lot of minutes with this team. But what I like about him is his potential over a multi year period. He could be developed into a very solid all around contributor and provide leadership to the young players coming in.

Every good team needs solid, veteran players and that's something that Kentucky has been missing out on. Kentucky should seek out more players like Allen. Players who have NBA potential, yet need a couple of years to work on their game before moving on.

Those type of players form a nucleus that good teams can be built around.

That's why I'm strongly in favor of Allen getting more playing time. He could have a very important role to play over the next couple of years. A mature leadership role that Kentucky is badly in need of. It would be good to have two or three players like Allen as upperclassmen on every team.

I take it that’s your way of saying you don’t know or we don’t know why he’s been sitting.

It’s a legit question I have and have asked many times but no answer. I know there are likely some conspiracy theories on the subject like Calipari wants to sabotage the program, etc. Since no one seems to know ANYTHING about it, I’m going to make the simple assumption the kid did something Calipari and company will not disclose to the public. Apparently, he’s served the bulk of his debt to the team.
A poster above gave you a direct quote from Cal. Did you read it? And then, you post this drivel? The only reason Allen played this game was because Cal got tossed and Flint played him. You worship of Cal is very telling.

Boston was cheering on sideline, and very in to it. In the end, kids want to win and it was good to see him in to it and not pouting.
I was very impressed with how Boston handled that situation. Now if we can just get him going, too. Poor guy needs to see some shots fall for a change.

Very good point. You could tell he was VERY tentative early on tonight. Needed some confidence and I hope it sticks after his performance tonight.
How do you get confidence? By playing. Who refused to let Allen play enough minutes to get a feel for the speed of the game? Calipari. Who refuses to accept the fact that Cal gives more minutes to his five stars? The Cal slurpers.

Great to see a Kentucky boy get his shot and make something of it.

I was neutral on Allen. I said give him a shot so the Allen supporters could either shut up or say I told you so.

Tonight the Allen supporters have a right to gloat.

I hope they gloat all season because if this kid plays like that the rest of the season, we will be a dangerous team.
It wasn't that we thought Allen would be an all-star. We had no real idea. We were just struggling so bad with shooting, it seemed asinine for Cal to keep passing him over. All we wanted was for him to get some legit chances to show what he could do.

All of us UK fans understand this. The Cal fans, meh, not so much. In fact they are beside themselves because Cal was fully exposed last night and they can’t stand it, so they come here bashing Allen and defending Cal. Simply amazing.

One good call? We've been asking for Allen to play for the last 5 games.
We damn sure wouldn’t be 2-6 if Cal would play his best players instead of playing draft prospects that can't shoot.

Instead of focusing on us, maybe you should focus on what we just witnessed. Cal looks like a real idiot right now, you can join him if you want.

Right on Jeff!

Everyone and anyone that bashes a college basketball player on “their team” looks like a real idiot.
There are tons of real idiots on this board.

I obviously don’t see how these guys practice but the first few games I was on board with Boston and Clark playing because historicallyplayers like that would look shaky at first and then gradually get into a groove, turn over less, take better shots, talk on defense, etc.

However the complete refusal to pass the ball combined with the terrible shot selection and the turnovers ...yeesh...you cannot give up that many possessions and still hope to win. I agree that at that point you have to use your bench for production and as a motivator. Thank goodness that Allen answered the call. Can you imagine how that must that have felt for him to have that kind of night?

I still think Boston can be a good player this season he just needs to learn how to play with 4 others.

This is a GREAT post! This, I think too, is how Allen should be utilized. Put him in for some reasonable amount of minutes per game, don’t lean on him to be a hero, and develop his game over a few years. He can alter the game plan of the other team and let the drivers play to their game too. Win/win for all players. Would certainly love to have him long-term. I’m really happy for the kid. He has a justifiable role in our rotation.

You aren't a 4 star when you've played 4 seasons in college lol. Star rankings is to show what a kid is in highschool.
If Baker is avg 14 and had 29 what's that tell ya bout his other games. Both of those guys should be the star of the team they're on.

OMG, stop posting. you are losing credibility with every post.
Both players sat the bench at UK, they rarely got the chance to play, now they're both at new programs and have to start over again and both are showing everyone just how good they are.

Baker played alot actually. If you have an agenda you can make yourself believe anything.
Most of our players at 22 years old are a lil better than 14 a game in the pac 12

This people are way too attached to something they aren’t a part of. What happens if Allen sucks for 3!straight games and someone else steps up? Quandary
I can tell you what happens when Allen hits a dry spell......the Hyenas will turn on him in a second......you've been around here long enough to see this play out........there is a portion of our fan base that has to have a goat.........every season......every game..........it must be a sad life to dwell on the negative all the time.......

Gotta pin this
Another idle threat..........it gives him a cover story if Allen doesn't show the next game and maybe be the great basketball guru that knows more than Cal does.........it never fails to amaze me that so many think they could do a better job than Cal does just from watching games........very few ever get into in practice and none get in enough to get the whole picture..............that tells me a lot.............

The fact that you conveniently leave out is they are both quitters........they left the team.........one in the middle of the season.........maybe in today's world it is OK to be a quitter........not in mine........I want people on my team who will be there at the end..........some of these guys have never had to share and it shows with their petulance when they leave......
