The Vulture and the Little Girl. A Pulitzer Prize winning photo.
The liberal who took this picture, Kevin Carter, was asked about the circumstances that led to him taking the picture. He said he waited about 20 minutes before departing the scene. He was waiting to get a picture of the vulture with its wings stretched out and even threw pebbles at the vulture to try to get it to do so. He eventual gave up and just snapped the picture. When asked what he did after snapping the picture, Carter said he stood under a tree, smoked a cigarette, and left without helping the child. He said he was told not to touch the natives because he could get a disease. The child (actually a boy despite the pictureβs title) made it to a camp on his own. Carter took the picture in 1993. In 1994 he committed suicide. The child in the picture survived. The photographer didnβt.
This perfectly incapsulates liberalism. They love humanity, but never met a person they actually like or helped. In the end, their ideas and efforts prove self-destructive.
