I am not sure pike had that big of a win when he was at stony. Not a big deal. The program is going in the right direction. Talent level on our team stinks. We need to get rid of a lot of these guys. Tonight just a blip on the radar. Brighter days ahead

The guys we need to “get rid of” either don’t play or barely play. Dumb comment.

I think he's talking about more guys than just the few bench players. And you'd have to agree. We have older players with sever limitations to their game. Just gotta keep bringing in better and better talent while maintaining a tough, hard-working culture

this loss does not bother me as much as I would have thought...... in the prediction thread I had us winning, something like 65-62....at one point the score was almost exactly that.,.. but there was still time to play.

as I was about to type the prediction, I gave serious thought to reversing it to Stony Brook winning by that three....

anyway, the way I figure it, we play near 30 games... we probably and hopefully win a couple we figured to lose, and with that, lose one or two we are favored

we have gotten fairly deep into the season and this is the first loss as a favorite, I believe.....we probably will have it happen again.....

hopefully we offset WTF losses with unexpected wins.... balance the sheet, so to speak

anyway, Stony Brook played like madmen at the end....they could sense the chance to win, outplayed us at the end..... they deserved it....I accept it.

I am still disgusted. One loss could cost us a .500 record or something worse. These kids I'm sure were coming off the exams as well as beating SHU. They also were probably looking forward to the Christmas break. Players are only here 4 or 5 years, fans are here much longer. I have been a fan of RU for 47 years and I can remember several wtf games just before Christmas or between Christmas and New Year's. I can see a little let down but the players should not be thinking about time off until after the game. I coached high school for 36 years and trust me I know how players think. I can tell you Coach Pikiell told these kids this could be a very tough game. I spoke with him for a long time at Caldwell College last Sunday and he was very concerned about Stony Brook. Kids often think they know everything. This loss to me was one of our biggest collapses since 1971. There was absolutely no way this should have happened up 5 with 14 seconds to play and having the ball.

Need to change the talent level in this program if we want a team that contends for the NCAA tournament .
Is that really a shocker ?

the way you said it is rude and disrespectful

and I suspect you would never say that to anyones face...

but, it's how you roll. thus my response

Ok whatever man. Getting all worked up about the way I said something rather than what I actually said .

Art. I know you didn't mean the Christmas break and exams comments as an excuse, but still Stony had exams and Christmas
coming up also. What do feel about the players coming in next year, honestly, because I also hear about the great
players coming in, then, like now we can't wait to be rid of them.

I hear that Kiss who is sitting out has been playing well in our practices. Mathis is supposed to be the jewel of our newcomers. Carter the JUCO center is supposedly very good and I've seen Harper play 3 times. He is a good outside shooter who I think will be very good when he gets into our weight program. I know our coaches think Kiss, Mathis and Harper will all help our outside shooting. I hope that is correct.

Definitely need to relax. Under Pikiell we've played 19 OOC games against teams ranked below 100 in KenPom (mostly way below) and won 18 of them. A 94.7% winning percentage in such games is pretty damn good for a team in our position.
