... the exact number of points that a wide open layup are worth. Just saying.

Ha, this is such a dumb thought. Yes, the game would have played out exactly the same way had Briscoe made that layup. Does anyone with half a brain actually think that?

After briscoe banked in an uncontested meaningless three pointer at the end. Haven't seen a box score but wouldn't be surprised if briscoe played all 40 minutes. While he got a lot of rebounds that is not what you need from his position on the floor. He gave us nothing offensively for most of the night, played no better defensively than anyone else and never left the floor. When he is playing well he is a great asset to the team, he hasn't played well of late, didn't play well last night and possibly played the whole damn game meaning we are constantly playing 4 on 5 on the offensive end.

People have bad games. It happens.

He certainly wasn't the only one.

My bad folks, I posted this after reading an article about the water spot on the floor where Malik slipped. Cal said, "he slipped, we lost". I posted this in response to that article. Not very clear on my part.

I try to stay civilized in my posts, but if you blame this 2 pt loss solely on Briscoe missing a lay up then you are an absolute moron. Besides others missing lay ups and making mistakes, Briscoe was playing as hard as anyone out there and led the team by a wide margin in rebounds. This loss was a team effort. UK had a pretty wide margin for error to beat UT but collectively used up all of that margin.

All those why we lost refs comments always focus on that "one or two" big calls that didn't go our way. But, I rarely see those same people remember the calls that didn't go the opponents way? Tenn had a couple real questionable calls against them where the crowd was correctly booing. Or with those the refs got them right and just not for us?

Kentucky lost because we stunk up the joint. We didn't play aggressively, didn't take advantage of our inside play, did too many outside shots that missed especially in the first half, in my view the 4 position cost us big time, and our defense is the paint was awful, Humphries is a mess, etc.

He played 34 minutes. Pretty much like he always does.

We were a little short on the bench. Mulder is still sick and Fox isn't 100%. So I'm not sure who else we had to go to

Win as a team lose as a team.

Monk has had 14 turnovers in the last three games.
Willis can't guard anyone. Neither can Issac.

Pinning it on anyone specific is wrong IMO

Does Willis still shoot the three ball? I thought that was his specialty. He had some great plays last night here and there, but he and several of the others need to learn to control their speed on a breakaway layup. Do I need to bring in a slide rule to show them that the ball is affected by the velocity of their run, not just their arm and fingers on the toss to the rim? Man, I cringe every time he or Briscoe go blasting toward the rim. Correct me if my memory is wrong, didn't John Wall do that a lot too? I just remember yelling that back then as well, but he's no JW...

Willis strikes me as someone that's very streaky.

He's 80 for 200 in his UK career........that's 40%. That's good. But he went from 44% last season to 36%. When Briscoe is shooting better from 3 than Willis is, there's something wrong.

As far as the out of control goes, we haven't been to bad. This teams turns it over very little which is amazing given the pace we play at. But the last few games it's been an issue and Briscoe is definitely one that seems to be the most out of control

Briscoe missed the layup because he was going slightly left to right and didn't adjust his shot. Best to lay the ball in over the front of the rim in those cases or dunk it. He was just going away from the basket when he laid it up. Just shows once again, they were pressing after failing to be mentally into the game from the start.

Mulder would have helped us in this game. Maybe not defensively but a couple 3's from him would have been a big boost.

It is silly to pin the loss on anyone thing, especially when there are so many to choose from. Normally Briscoe and Fox make their layups. Last night both had notable misses. Monk slipping on sweat was a freak occurrence. Much more disturbing is the number of wide open layups in the lane the team gave up. Stopping a few of those would have been huge. Our team defense was pretty dreadful. It is like if we don't steal the ball or block a shot we are giving up an easy two. I don't know why we cannot hold our ground and make the other team take bad shots. Instead it is a lay up line. It puts a lot of pressure on our offense when our defense is such a siv. UT did a good job of minimizing our transition points so we had to resort to creating in the half court which is not our strong suit. Although Bam is pretty great when he actually gets the ball in position. eh, hopefully this gets everyone's attention and they play a little better against KU.

There were 6 or 8 key plays or things that happened during the game that cost us a win.The water spot, the lay-up,Monk's missed FT and subsequent foul, the call on Gabriel,Willis missing an open 3 that would have given us the lead late, UT banked 3's all those things went their way.We had a chance to pull this one out but didn't,we let them get away in the mid part of the second half

This team is pretty good but they aren't great, they can beat anybody with their A game but they are very beatable with their B game.

Obviously very happy that my team won b/c it was a great win on ONE night... Kentucky will be just fine. I love Monk and Fox but after watching Bam for a few games, they need him to take 15-20 shots a night. He has unreal touch for a guy his size to go along w/ special athleticism. I've never seen a guy that big shoot free throws with the stroke he has. And by that I mean a guy w/ his skill set... he's not the same type player as Cousins/ Towns/ or Davis, they were all ahead of him when they got to UK imo... all i know is that I'm a big Grizz fan and would somehow love for Bam to get to us to come in and learn from Gasol for the next couple of years.... either way, entertaining game... see you guys in a few weeks

I thought we (UK) would be a bad match-up for UT but it proved to be the other way around, unless we fix a few things it will be a dog fight in a 3 weeks

If Derek and Isaac were the only two that can't guard anyone, we would have won.

Why do you guys get so upset by 1 loss. You have a great team.

Losses make you better. Going 34-1 hasn't worked out for you either.

Relax. Your backcourt will take you a long way in the tournament.

Or a Gabriel bucket that was called off

OR ANYTHING.

lol @ putting this loss on one specific thing
I agree on the Gabriel bucket. I didn't see a foul. I don't ordinarily complain about officiating, but this one was a bad and costly miss.
