I was dissapointed with the recruiting this off season at first but have completely changed my stance. We have the one guy no one else has and that is Skal Labbisiere who reminds me of a young Tim Duncan with range... I can see this kid avg 18 and 10 and leading us to #9 since Coach can actually play him 32 min...

Tons of potential but also tons of pressure.Skal will be the focus of every teams game plan this winter.Keeping him out of foul trouble will be key to keeping him on the court.

If Poythress is healthy(knee) and Lee really steps up his game we will be fine, we still may get someone else, crossing my fingers, Go Cats

The athletes are there. This comes down to the guys improving their skills in the off season and developing the sense of team that is essential to being more than a collection of ball players.

He is so skilled but will have a tuff time banging vs 21 year old grown men that are around his height and just wider frames. Skal will be special player though.

I'm not familiar enough with his game to comment but I like that we have him . We have a great class that most programs would love to have , people lose sight of this because of the late misses but most of that was extra toppings .

I will feel better when he is ruled eligible, I haven't forgot Enes Kanter yet.

We can all agree that Kanter was rightly ruled ineligible. He played professional basketball.

But can he hit a mid-range jumper? Eh. rarely.

He's developed his body quite a bit in a short amount of time. He's at least more filled out than Anthony Davis as of right now, compared to when AD came in. Athleticism, and a rather large offensive skillset is Skal's niche, along with lateral quickness, and very good shot blocking on defense.
Skal is easily the most offensively gifted big man we've had coming in. Towns was very gifted offensively, but he had one move in the post, which is a move that Skal has already became consistent with.

He will be a Freshman. Many forget that even Davis had his off nights as did KAT. So, yes talented but also a lot to learn. Hope he is there by the end of the season.

Not sure if we will have the best college basketball player next year, but we will have the most talented college basketball next year.

I think you will see Lee at the 5 Skal as a stretch 4 ..He's quick enough and long enough to be able to help inside....Also is one of the best shooters on the team..may be the best.If you saw him at the MCHF you would see his touch...Im really high on him....18ppg....Id hope Briscoe drops about 15 lb this summer....would improve his quickness and hops...

Skal has already gotten much bigger since his season ended. He will be coming in a lot stronger and more physical than AD came in as a freshman.

UK problem will be depth! the starting 5 will be ok. In my opinion they will struggle a little because of the front court. This will not be your typical UK talented team. They will sruggle from the 3 position. 22-8 season for UK.

Starting lineup is ok?? Ummm, I would say quite a bit better than ok. The nations top pg and best freshman alone make us better than ok. And then Briscoe, Poythress and Mulder, Matthews, Lee. Throw in depth with Hawk and Willis. We will have a very good 7-8 man rotation. So saying we will be ok is just a bit wrong. Name me two teams with a better starting 5 and bench?? Even if you can name some close, it will be debatable. Stop being so negative about a top 5 team. If we are so average, go find a new team. I'm sick of some of our fans acting like we will be ok or suck just because they got warped from last yr. Did we win it all with our 10 deep team of burger boys last yr?? And did the team who beat us have 8 burger boys on there roster?? I will remind you no and no. Next yrs team make up is closer to the ones Cal excelled with at umass, mem and here.

No less depth than 2011 or 2012.

This team has less depth than only the 2015 team, which every CBB ever may have less quality depth than that team. This team is at least 7 deep, maybe 9 depending on how much Hawkins and Willis improve before their junior year, and it also depends on if we get Vick.

The freshmn are unproven at this level. Why do you think Calipari is going after transfers? He didn't get the other 5 stars. Willis and Hawkins is not the answer.Thats why their recruited over. 22-8

The Harrison twins were recruited over with Ulis and Booker
Poythress was recruited over with Lyles
Johnson was recruited over with Towns

That's what our team does. We take talent, and make something of it.
I don't see a scenario where Skal goes for 16/16, or 21/13 against All-Americans, but falls flat on his face in college. I think we can agree that you're being a bit too cautious in your assumption that he won't be a terrific player.

Do we have another Cardinal Troll in Coach? His spelling certainly suggests it.
