This team will go as far as Gio & Harper can show shot discipline. If they continue what they've done prior years of just shooting bricks when they're cold and not driving the rock to the hole we won't have a good year....

Now that we have Johnny Langan we don’t need Gio.

That is the 5 that helps us beat beat Merrimack. We aren’t competing in the NEC tournament in March

This is a work in progress. Pike and I don’t have enough data to assess what 5 best beats Indiana or Purdue or Ohio State or even Penn State.
Seems pretty obvious for the time being..Lets go with CO,JJ,AH,GB & RH for now.

Seemed pretty obvious after Lehigh game Jaden wasn’t ready because of his D.

Only thing that is obvious to me is Cliff and Ron. Any team that wants to put pressure on the primary ball handler Geo is the obvious 3rd guy.

After that it depends on opponent, how the game is going, and what is going on in practice.

Let’s not lose sight of the sample size we have in these players careers. Caleb and Paul have been extremely valuable in games that have meant us being a NCAA tournament. Let’s not throw that out because they laid turds against Merrimack.

Those 5 are Geo-Hyatt-Jaden-Ron-Cliff
I can see that. Give others a chance to earn their starts back.. reward success.. that said.. your lineup is protecting Geo.. he has been only marginally better than Caleb and PM.. they have all 3 been bad.

Let's get Miller in there and see what he can do... give him a chance to earn the spot in your top 5. One would assume the best have come out of preseason practices as the starters.. but maybe not (based on who we started and what we saw).

Hopefully it will be a case of last year we were not as good as we looked in early games and this year we are not as bad as we have looked.

Still.. we do have 2 Ws... that doesn't suck.

Green is on the money. Jaden was able to play as much as he did, because the team we played probably wouldn’t have dropped 60 even if we played (literally) 4 against their 5. Perspective - Merrimack scored 34 total points.

Pike saw they couldn’t put the ball in the basket and made wise adjustments. When defense is needed, Caleb may (likely will) have to play a lot. His shooting has seemed worse than it’s ever been though, and thats saying a lot. As for Paul, I always thought his minutes would drop if he didn’t become a consistent offensive player. Playing with JY hid a lot of his shortcomings. Hopefully he’ll get it together on offense. He won’t be in the game for defensive support.

Cliff Omoruyi , Geo Baker, Ron Harper, Andre Hyatt, Jaden Jones… followed by Caleb , Paul and take your pick. The process is to determine by game 10 who you actually have. Reiber, Agee , Palmquist , Miller and whomever. Geez it’s not rocket science.

Miller gets the opportunity everyday in practice. Him being a DNP tells us all we need to know. He isn’t ready or he would be playing.
That is what I also said: "One would assume the best have come out of preseason practices as the starters.. but maybe not (based on who we started and what we saw)." right after the quote you used.

And if the ones who earned the starting spots in practice were outplayed by some bench players... why couldn't that also be true for Miller?

It’s no coincidence that our best 5 is our most talented 5 and includes the four highest ranked recruits on the roster in Cliff, Jones, Hyatt and Harper...talent matters. Geo adds veteran leadership and will always start. I’m a big Paul fan but he hasn’t played well. He will be fine. Caleb and Paul are glue guys, I’d think Caleb coming off bench and Hyatt starting in his place Is our next starting line up
