I'm thinking there was probably a collective crapping of the pants over at thr??

I doubt it. They're the defending national champions. Right now everything is pretty much gravy for those guys....like it was for us after 2015. As @DukeDenver said, the onus is now on Duke. Assuming Tony Bradley comes back next season, UNC should be one of the top few teams again in the country. They're not going away whether we want them to or not.

They aren't going away (until the ncaa grows a pair) but they will continue to get beat down by Duke!

Glad we got him but I refuse to get too excited until I actually see how this teams plays together.
That' s the key because on paper we will be more talented than Carolina at 4 of the 5 positions on the court. But like we saw this year it doesn't matter unless we play as a team

Yeah but the 2 out of 3 wins last year still stick in their craw....Also, remember they still have to get by the Infractions Committee to defend their title next year, and they will get no help from SEC commissioner Greg Sankey who chairs that committee. OFC

Meanwhile let em chew on this:

I'm not taking that into account. UNC did some bad things and probably won't get what they deserve....but I'm over it. Nothing is going to happen to them.

Like I said, I'd rather be national champions.

Regardless of what happens to them it still has to be "taken into account." They wouldnt have that banner like Show noted without the millions in stall tactics.

Tainted like the Maris HR record....Facts are facts....

Congrats to you guys.
The announcement was really neat. I enjoyed it
Seems like Jackson or Duval one was 100% going to happen. Duval just waiting Jackson out
Bolden development will be huge. Foul trouble? Injury? Heart?

Why wouldn't they have it? You can call them stall tactics, but if nothing happens to them in the long run, then how is that stalling? By suggesting they're stalling you're insinuating that ultimately something of significance is going to happen to them. I'm confident in saying that's not the case.

Like I said, shady crap happened. I'm quite confident Roy was aware too....but still, legally-speaking, these courses were accredited and were available to all students. Now trust me, I know (and so do UNC fans even though they won't admit it) everything wasn't on the up-and-up and stuff was going on behind the scenes, but I still don't think UNC is necessarily "stalling" as much as they're confident nothing can really be done to them.

Lastly, UNC will laugh at everyone again when this over and think they won. And while that might be partly true, they'll know they got away with it, too. I just feel bad for fans of Duke, UK and other schools who have invested so much wasted time into making it their mission to nail UNC. In the end, I think the joke will be on those people more so than UNC fans. JMO.

I just dont happen to agree with the crystal ball you are looking into. Florida State faced sanctions (losing a track title and 12 football wins and NON-ATHLETES AND ATHLETES were in the same class) . Btw, that music class (as noted in article I posted) only lasted ONE YEAR. You're an educated man- the UNC debacle went on two decades.

Lastly, OF COURSE they are stalling- they have intentionally delayed ANY TYPE of ruling for TWO STRAIGHT years w/money and stall tactics. If they were so SUPREMELY CONFIDENT, they wouldnt employ such strategy.

As Bob Ryan (Boston Globe) said recently, UNC winning the national title this year was "the worse thing that could have happened to college basketball." Thats not quoting a Duke homer, by any means.

This is basically been my thoughts the whole time. Did they cheat? Yes. Do their fans deep down know it? Most of them yes. However there is going to be a lot of butt hurt people across the spectrum when unc gets a two scholarship reduction for 3 years and probation.

Like I said I disagree with that crystal ball. Why would Bubba Cunningham, John Swofford and Jim Delaney ALL call for SEC commish Greg Sankey to RECUSE himself from the proceedings if they were not concerned about potential punishment. He clearly will NOT step aside and ADAMANTLY called for NO MORE DELAYS.Do not forget hes also expressed an interest in talking now to whistleblower Mary Willingham. You and Dukie can say "I told you so" when its over. However theres a ways to go and Knox may have sidestepped UNC because he didnt want to watch March Madness from home next season....

And that's fine....you're entitled to disagree.

The NCAA is trying to do everything in their power....but their power has limits. UNC is just toying with them now. If the NCAA tries to do something UNC will happily take them to court.

And again, I'm not calling you a Duke homer or anyone else. I don't necessarily disagree with Bob Ryan, either....I just happen to think nothing will come of any of this. You and I will both still know they were cheating, but their hands will be washed clean.

Great news to start the week! Welcome to Duke young man. This is Huuuuuuuuge! If we can stay healthy (especially Duval) and Bolden comes out with a chip on his shoulder, whoa Nellie!
This team will be "Final Four" capable right from the git-go. Really excited and need a fix, and the only thing that will help is #6!
Go Duke!

You and Dukie can say "I told you so" when its over.

I won't do that. It doesn't mean that much to me. But I'll gladly say you were right and I was wrong if it goes down the way you're hoping....I'll also be happy about the decision. I'm not expecting that, though.

Well of course you can disagree too, its just a message board!

Ah Dukie Jay, court will potentially open up "discovery" meaning even more documents available and witnesses called. Court is a double edged sword they could easily fall on...Personally I would love to see it go to court!

Court won't paint a pretty picture of UNC....but they'd be going to court trying to prove the NCAA overstepped their bounds. They'd likely win that scenario.

Not if it means major players in the scandal taking the stand under oath.....The PR machine at UNC wants you to BELIEVE they would win....OFC

You are right on with this point. I am pretty sure that UNC would be terrified of taking this case to court.

I wouldn't rather be champions if my University had to spend 20 million on lawyers to get it. JOKE. At any rate, our turn. With Duval, Allen, Carter, Trent, Bolden, O'Connell, Tucker , Goldwire and Javin, I TRULY like our chances.
Hell yea, that's what I'm talking bout Show.
