for another coach that can't win the games that matter lol. We are a joke.
Nah. People wanted Bo fired because they wanted to lose and have a coach who is well-versed at losing. Hence, that coach is really good at talking to the press after losing.

Because he's used to it.

Nebraska isn't going to win 5 games this year.

We fired Bo because he acted like a Jackass just like you and your buddy 500 Mile. Thanks to Bo we started TWO freshman linebackers.
You can make all the excuses you want. Bo left the cupboard more more full than the players are BYU.

Mike Riley sucks as a head coach; Mike Riley is a nice guy.

Sweet.

To be 100 percent honest, this game doesn't matter. Not conference. First game of the year. Ohio State lost their 2nd game last year and went on to win the title. No, I'm not comparing us to them, but this was a non conference game. In the grand scheme of things, it really DIDN'T matter.

Bo was a good coach who didn't lose to mid majors. Mike Riley is a dumpster fire who lost to FCS teams and other awful teams during his time at Oregon State. He was a trainwreck there, and giving him a big time job at Nebraska wasn't just a bad hire, it reeks of incompetence to a dangerous level almost to the point that those who made the hire are trying to destroy Nebraska football.

I came on this board and said the college football world is laughing at Nebraska, but honestly the college football world feels sorry for Nebraska. It was a once great program that dominated the sport, and has decided having a guy who sounds nice in interviews is more important than winning games. At least Pelini had Nebraska ranked everywhere, Riley will be lucky to have 7-5 type seasons before he is fired in a few years.

I would beg to differ. It does matter.

Had Bo been coaching this game, Hill would have torn the D apart, and it wouldn't have came down to a last second play.

The Bo haters say stuff like this, but the reality isn't true. Pelini won 9 games or more every year at Nebraska and didn't get "torched" by mediocre mid majors like byu. Yeah he certainly had some dreadful games against elite teams, but Nebraska had one of the top records in the country over his 7 years. Bo Pelini had a 10-2, 7-1 regular season in 2012. Does anyone actually think a moron like Mike Riley will ever even come close to that? Of course not, but hey he is nice to reporters!!!

If Nebraska wanted to move on from Bo that is fine, but Mike Riley? Haha it is almost as if Eichhorst wants Nebraska to be the easiest opponent possible when he goes to Wisconsin.

They made good adjustment the second half, they came out and played a good second half so you would rather have a coach that can't make a adjustment the second half safe his ***

BYU is a better team than VTech was last year. I seem to recall an Ameer miracle to beat McNeese St last year. How good was McNeese State?

Didn't we give up almost 400 yards and need a miracle to beat McNeese State last year?

Do you really think BP would have been able to coach us to a win over BYU? I'm pretty sure it would have been a massacre. And as someone said earlier, this game really means nothing. Let's be real, we aren't going to make the playoffs this year. IMO we'll be lucky to get back to 7-8 wins. This loss does, however, show us what needs to be improved going forward. By seeing how adjustments were made at halftime to come back and take the lead, I'm feeling pretty optimistic about our team improving throughout the year. The offensive and defensive lines struggled throughout the game, yet it took a Hail Mary/Joseph Smith to beat us. I wouldn't call it a moral victory, but things could have gone way worse after being down 24-14 at the half.

Honestly, why does our fanbase have to have worthless losers like you? Go find a team you can actually support. And yes I mean it. Really. Go and leave your worthless arrogant know it all nasty namecalling trashy mouth(and the rest of your body too) and take it somewhere else. Why do people like you have to be such jerks? Do you enjoy it? Do you think it makes you tough? What is it with you people?

The lack of run game and shoddy defense was not a good sign today. Was never fan of the Riley hire, but definitely wanted Bo and his staff gone. I'm not very confident that Riley will succeed here, but the guy has to be given a chance to get his players and program in place. Hope I'm wrong, but I say in 3 years we are looking for another coach (and probably A.D.) yet again. I'm not putting this opinion out there based on today's game...I've been saying it since the day he was hired. I would love to be proven wrong.

The fact you call BYU a mid major tells me everything i need to know about your knowledge. Ask Texas and OU if they are a mid major.Your buddy was tied with Mcneese st last year late in the game. Are they elite? Not even in the division to be considered a mid major. South Dakota State a mid major? Nope.

It always cracks me up after a Husker loss how many new posters come on here and talk about how they knew we weren't any good. You guys are brilliant! I won't bother talking to any of you directly in the future because you guys will be conspicuously absent when it comes time to actually talk football. Seriously lame.

I like Riley, but I think he and his staff are in over there heads here. I wouldn't be surprised if he "retires" in 3-4 years.
