Unless we move to an option type attack. AM has had many 300+ yard passing games. I can’t see Luke ever doing that. And we couldn’t win with AM. Just seems like the only way we can take advantage of these RB’s playing QB, without all the downside is to move to a run heavy option style.

We can’t win with this offense, period. The players are as good as the leaders that teach them their system.

This system is broken. Scrap everything and hire some professionals to your staff or GTFO

As i keep and kept saying for months now, The Smothers era begins next year and I also kept saying at QB Smothers has everything over MAC. That's not sayin I don't like Mac as it's just the opposite. Mac's calling is at his natural position of WR.

Out of all our QB’s Smothers may be the worst thrower right now.

Also, Frost will still be behind the headset. That alone puts the offense behind the eight ball.

No he's not, the only one in the room with a more a more accurate arm than him right now is Masker and MM has the best arm in the entire room but as slow as a snail and that is what is keeping him off the field. Smothers this year is working on arm strength and overall S&C as he doesn't have to work on his mechanics as they are already there and already knows the playbook like the back of his hand and is still healing fron the 2 broken and 1 cracked rib that he suffered last year before the playoffs due to a BS cheap shot. It takes A LONG time for ribs to completely heal.

Luke is very talented but it he was nothing more than Taylor Martinez 2.0 you go back and rewatch it just sandlot footbal, there were receivers running open he was either scared to throw it or doesn’t have the arm strength I said Adrian Adrian should have started the second 1/2

You are going to be sadly disappointed.

Martinez and McCaffrey were the next big thing as well. Then Verduzco and Frost happened.

AM is better. AM struggled vs two of the best teams in the league. LM has stuggled vs two of the worst teams in the league.

well we did already win A game with LM at QB. That said some of that was a defensive TD.

You aren't really gonna be saying anything next year when Smothers lights it up. You will be sadly disappointed as Smothers will easily win the QB battle. But hey, you can stay the LM train as long as ya want as no one is teelin ya to get off the ride!

I agree with @headcard . We need both on the field to succeed. Keep AMart as the QB and move McCaffrey to receiver. He will be a damn good one, number 1 option right off the bat. I’m not saying we are going to turn the corner with that move, but we will move the ball more fluidly.

I don’t care who starts at QB. Start Smothers next week. Great. It won’t change the fact that Scott Frost is garbage.

I think we likely cannot win with Frost's offense in the B1G unless there's a Heisman QB back there. Neither AM or LM are any where close to fitting that bill so I don't it much matters which of them is starting.

Smothers is faster and quicker and has almost that same insane top gear, very very close but not quite that TM had before his injuries. Smothers is T-Mart 2.0 with an arm far better than Mac's.

So in other words, this kid should be our starting quarterback in 2021.

You might just be suprised when a QB comes in that can actually run Frost's O. Martinez and Mac aren't suited for can run this offense to it's fullest extent, but Smothers can as his offensive system that he played in is extremely, extremely close to what is being run here now. Mac will make a name for himself playing his natural position of receiver as he is one hell of an athlete.

He will be our starter next year hands down and won't have to look over his shoulder worrying about losing his job. This year his working on his arm strength and overall S&C plus also stil healing from those 2 bhroken and one cracked rib suffered by a BS cheap shot right before his playoffs last year and it takes A LONG time for ribs to completely heal.

It would be awesome if they could get Logan some snaps this year. I believe he's the real future QB. Luke is a great athlete but just not the well rounded, true QB needed in this offense.

Ok, sounds great. Do you have intel that this is in the works? What happens to McCaffrey?

I am hoping, after he "shuts down the virus*, JB sprinkles the magic fairy dust over Lincoln and fixes football.

On second thought, the latter might take JC, not JB.

Frost needs to find a transfer QB, especially if they pass they one-time transfer rule. The 2nd or 3rd-string QB at Ohio State or Clemson or Oklahoma has to be better than what we got.

Are all our QB option Frost recruits? If so, is he making bad choices? Is he unable to teach and instill what he wants?

Yeah but there are those kids who just go rogue and do what they see best. We need one of them. Joe Burrow was one of them sigh

That's not going to happen. So we need to get used to losing until a decent thrower arrives.

Frost thought he had the next Pat Mahomes in Martinez for 3 more years, as well as a decent backup in Vedral for 3 more years....so he took a chance on a project like McCaffrey thinking he would have plenty of time to develop him. Obviously things didn't go as planned.

What offensive system? I’m being serious. What we do on Saturday’s cannot be considered an offense.

Frost has no feel for the game and his no fear of failure like many things he has said has blown up in his face.

He doesn't have a QB to run this type of O this year. The only QB we did have to run it to it's full tempo transferred to Rutgers.

One thing LM could as a wide receiver is stretch the field.

I mean he has 3 guys he recruited here, so don’t believe that
Noah Vedral. When he was here, there was nobody in that QB room that knew the offense better than him and it wasn't even close as the only ones that knew more than him were the coaches. He was MIlton's B/U at UCF.

What a shame he hasn't been able to translate that mental mastery into success on the field in any of his starts at NU or Rutgers.

This was my fear with Luke, that his best future was not at QB but he would be pressed into service there because nobody else was any good either. He just isn't a good passer, there's no sugar coating it. He's a capable passer at times but he also makes a lot of just foolish choices.
