The guys fit so well and locked up on D. Use Paul sparingly to get the three best guards Young Mathis and Geo a breather when needed and try to keep Doucoure off the floor if possible (Shaq foul trouble probably played a part) and this team will play better offensively than it has all year and play the lockdown D we saw early in the conference schedule pre geo returning and better with him back next two out on ball defenders.

Don’t worry about “small ball” to manufacture a resume boost (not that we can control it anyway) because this team can hit the home run as constituted since 2H Penn St.

So can any team in the Big 10 . However, if you are saying you are not afraid of playing anyone , then I agree. I truly think the best chance to win it, is for Pike to let the team play more uptempo that fits their style very well and certain guys Jacob , Montez, and Ron shine in that style. Tourney basket ball has a tendency to play possession to possession and walk the ball up every trip. I would try to resist that and even press early if we get out to slow starts. We are as good as any team in this league with our depth but playing half court offense for a majority of the time because we do not have the better percentage shooters , would not allow for a run. Maybe win a game but not multiple.

for the sake of discussion, the 8/9 and 7/10 teams on Thursday of the Big Ten tourney will likely have an easier time making a Final Four than they will winning the Big Ten tournament. Those 4 teams are going to have to play 4 straight games against top 25 ish competition. Most teams that make a Final Four will not have 4 such games to win.
