If a persons genitals don’t determine their gender then how does altering them change their gender? Almost all libs are mentally ill.
This is the one subject I just don’t understand from the left. I understand the points of most people on almost every topic but the gender thing is a non-starter for me. For a group the “follows the science” they sure don’t on this topic.

I am surrounded by liberals, including in my own house. I’ve yet to meet one who really cares about this issue.
THIS x 1000. I've actually got a kid on my street that identifies as a Boy now instead of a Girl. My kids played with her a ton when they were younger and I liked her a lot... a really good kid. Now she wants to ID as a boy, and I have to admit that I don't give a ****. So I use He/Him as best I can, and told him that I'm old as hell and that when I slip up and call him she or her, that it's just me messing up and not reflection on him at all. Problem solved.

Honestly, who gives a **** what pronoun you want to use? I'll generally call people whatever they want to be called. All I ask is that when I mess that up... stay off my ***... I'm doing my best.

This is what I don't understand from the right. Most of my family and friends are liberal but we spend almost zero time discussing this subject and it certainly wouldn't fall under the subject of "science". We simply believe that we should stay out of other people's lives since we don't have to live them and if that's what it takes for them to be happy, why would we want to interfere in what a very tiny fraction of the population does? Don't use your exaggeration of this culture war issue to claim everyone on the left promotes people changing genders.

This is me. I’m an old guy and I’ll admit that I don’t get why folks are doing this. But ultimately, it doesn’t hurt me a bit. It’s a tough world out there and if it makes somebody happy to present as a different gender than they were born into, why should I get all worked up about it? I may think it’s dumb but nobody is making me dress as anything I don’t want to dress as so why should I give a **** what somebody else is wearing?

Weve got way too many angry people out there. We’d all be better off if we’d mind our own business and don’t butt into what other people are doing if it doesn’t really hurt us. I’ve always like the Langston Hughes poem Advice:

Folks, I’m telling you,
birthing is hard
and dying is mean —
so get yourself
a little loving
in between.

I’m for more love and more happiness so if somebody is doing something that makes them happy and doesn’t hurt me or anybody else, I’m cool with it.

No one is saying adults shouldn’t be able to identify as whatever they want but when Democrats are afraid to say your biological gender is your gender bc they are pandering to a fraction of their base, that’s an issue. And when I say the left, I mean the cooks. I’m sure your family is made up of classic liberals which I actually agree with a lot on certain issues.

You are using a huge sweeping brush when you lump all Democrats in with those that feel that way. Most folks truly couldn't care less about that issue.

I think where this issue gets muddied is because the right has taken these culture war issues to an extreme in an attempt to win elections. They spread the propaganda far and wide forcing us to respond to this issue that we rarely come across or even think about. Intentionally promoting the fringiest people on the internet to make claims about the left has created a lot of unnecessary division in this country and I wish it would stop. Have we really decided as a country that it's ok to traumatize these people relentlessly just because they're different? I choose not to because life is short and too damn hard as it is and if that makes me a bleeding heart, so be it. Oh and I'm not afraid to say anything so let's not paint with such a broad brush.

When o say democrats I’m talking about the people in office. They are pandering to a very small minority. The right are nuts on a bunch of stuff too but I think crap like gender issues is a slippery slope. Give a little and a miles is taken.

Ten years ago the right was making the same argument about gay marriage. Remember the whole argument that if two guys could marry each other then marrying animals would be next? Remember how they argued that gay marriage was going to destroy straight marriage?

For me personally, if i see two gay guys making out it does not make me love my hot wife any less. If I see a guy wearing make up and a dress, it does not make me want to do the same.

I will never change my opinion that what you are born that you carry for life

Male born is male DNA for life

Same for females

Physical mutilation changes none of that
