I agree that it will be damn near impossible to fall out of national seeding regardless of outcome going forward. The resumes outside of the current top 8 are not impressive. To give an idea, UT is currently #10 in RPI.
We can lose out and we will be no worse than the #8 national Seed.

I'm curious to see how regionals and host sites play out for SEC teams. The committee has shown a tendency to look at conference record and reward teams with a winning conference record.
-UT has an RPI of 10 but a 12-15 conference record.
-A&M, MIZ, and AUB are sitting at 13, 15, and 20 with records close to .500. They could all put themselves in a position to host in the next 10 days.
-LSU is sitting at 21, but has 15 conference wins already. It's going to be tough to still give them their typical wet paper sack regional, but they could still end up with 17-18 conference wins.
By the time you get to LSU, there are 9 SEC teams in the mix for 16 regional hosts.
i just don't understand how these projections are determined. right now BA has Oklahoma State (30-17, 12-9) RPI 11 as a host and the Number 11 seed. Tennessee (36-17, 12-15) is a 3 seed with an RPI of 10. conference record shouldn't be that big of a factor.
Tennessee
SOS 4
24-2 NC record
16-15 Q1 record
Oklahoma State
SOS 6
18-8 NC record
9-8 Q1 record
how can you tell me with a straight face that one of those is the number 11 overall seed and the other is a 3 seed on the bubble?
Don’t see any way Tennessee hosts with a .500 or worse conference record. Auburn is also a long shot unless they sweep LSU. I think series wins by A&M or LSU this weekend put both of them in really good shape to host. Ole Miss and Mizzou need series wins this weekend plus a strong showing in Hoover.
Who's getting upset?I bet Kentucky basketball fans don’t get upset when Bracketologists declare them “A LOCK” for an NCAA tournament bid with 5 games to play. Facts are facts.
