Amen, brother! And don't forget, Illinois is a much improved team that will play for Big Ten championships under Lovie Smith. That was a big time test for this Nebraska team and it'll only help us prepare for Ohio State. If you can dream it, you can do it.

We could have folded and lost.

But you know that pesky win got in the way. Laughing

Is it ok to say that Illinois has improved since last year, but we still should be have curb stomped them?

I have actually read comments from fans on this board and RSS (not a lot, but a few) where fans have stated it doesn't matter if Nebraska is 9-4 or 4-8, its all the same if Nebraska isn't winning 11 or more games.

There is nothing wrong with having high standards as a Husker fan, but some people are so irrational that they can't see the forest thru the trees.

And I’ll gladly take the 3-1 star...4-0 would have been better but it didn’t happen. So 3-1 it is. We may lose to OSU and Wisconsin but we still have a chance of going 8-4...with 9-3 as a real possibility.

Minnesota and Northwestern hasn’t looked good, Indiana is Indiana and Maryland looked good early but a team that has a decent defense at all should be able to slow those guys down enough to win.

As of now, I’m shutting up about the Iowa game. They have looked solid but I think once we play them our offense will be 100% and playing good by then. Overall i think our defense matches up well against their offense (they have no real weapons in their skill position) and the weapons we have on offense should give their defense fits. That game could go either way.

Point being, 8-4 to 9-3 is still achievable like I have guessed all off season long.

It also wouldn't matter if we were 4-0. The same people would still be miserable because they demand excellence and no one will ever live up to it.

Fans remember the 11+ win seasons for decades, they enjoy the other ones in the moment. This is a year that will be enjoyed best in the moment, savor the wins, try to understand the losses, and then rinse it like we have 2018,2017,2016,2015, 2014,2013,2012,2011,2010,2008,2007,2006,2005,2004,2003,2002,2000,1999,1998,
