The playoff picture is getting clearer for the conference now. 5 teams realistically have a shot at a week 10 game. Moline pretty much has the conference crown already wrapped up. Also, there is one “Holy Buckets” game and three “Meh” games for the week.
Sterling (4-2) @ Geneseo (4-2): Rivalry game with a lot on the line? Yes please!!! Getting that fifth win? Check. Playoff seeding? Check? A long history of middle fingers to the other's season? Galesburg (2-4) @ Quincy (4-2): Galesburg showed a little moxy last week against Geneseo, but they are going to have to show even more to keep up with Quincy. Quincy came away with a close win against UT that was a must win #1 for them. With Sterling and Geneseo looming, this is must win #2 for the Blue Devils. Galesburg should put forth a good effort, but they are a young, rebuilding program. Quincy 42 – Galesburg 13
Rock Island (1-5) @ United Township (3-3): The floundering ship vs the dumpster fire. UT has lost three straight games in which it had the lead. Outside of massively rebuilding Alleman, Rock Island has been bushwhacked in every game this season. If UT wants to get to week 10, they need to put a full game together. Not sure they have figured that out yet, but I don’t think they need to this week. UT 42 – Rocky 7
