The conference hierarchy shock itself out some this week as the top dog was established and the middle pack got a bit bigger.
Rock Island 51- Alleman 0: This was a rough game that would end up being called with a little less than 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter after an Alleman player was taken off in an ambulance. Rocky simply overwhelmed and out athlete a depleted Pioneer teams.
Sterling 48 – Galesburg 0: Galesburg would put together a couple good drives in the 1st half, but would come up with no points as Sterling’s defense would force multiple turnovers and negative plays to pitch the shut out. Sterling’s offense continued the onslaught from last week as Sterling would rush for 5 TDs and pass for 2 more.
Moline 39 – Quincy 0: I did not have this score on my bingo card. Moline pretty much dominated from start to finish, rushing for over 400 yards and gaining 550 total while holding Quincy to 160 total yards and forcing 4 turnovers. With this statement win, Moline takes full control of the conference.
Geneseo 36 – UT 33: UT decided to wander into wild land against. Offense and defense came out firing for the Panthers, as they would jump out to a 21-7 lead. Like as week though, they would give up a touchdown before the half to let the Leafs back into the game. After the half, Geneseo would put two more score on the board, going up 28-21. In the 4th, UT would answer back with 2 scores of their own and take the lead 33-28 with 1:27 to play. Geneseo would march right down the field and take the lead and the win with 22 seconds left. Wild game.
