Alleman vs Walther Christian: The hype for this one with the Pioneer faithful will be sky high! Expect emotion and first game jitters to stall Alleman early, but I think that same emotion helps them roll! Alleman 42 – Walther Christian 6
Galesburg vs Dunlap: Galesburg is trying to build a foundation to get the program turned around. Sadly, Dunlap is already an established program. Last year wasn’t close and neither will this year. Dunlap 42 – Galesburg 7
Moline @ Rockwood Summit (MO): This was a close, hard fought 1 point Moline win at home last year. Moline has to go on the road this year. Expect another close game as the new starters figure things out. Summit 35 – Moline 30
Quincy vs Boonville (MO): I know next to nothing about Boonville, but I know Quincy is breaking a lot of new starters. Luckily those starters already have a lot of game experience. Quincy pulls away after halftime. Quincy 45 – Boonville 17
Rock Island vs Kaneland: Rocky would love to forget last year with a good start to this year. I don’t think they are near Kaneland’s level though. The Knights jump in front early and stay in front. Kaneland 35 – Rock Island 14
Sterling @ Metamora: This might be the age-old match up of Size vs Speed. Bad thing for Sterling is Metamora is more experienced and has some speed as well. Metamora is a super close game. Metamora 24 – Sterling 21
United Township vs LaSalle-Peru: Much like Sterling/Metamora, this game is also becoming a regular opening season tilt. LP has a very good but still young QB, but UT brings a lot of kids back who would love to get the LP monkey off their back. UT 28 – LP 17
Geneseo @ Rochelle: Could be a fastest, hardest hitting game in the conference this week. Both teams want to run the ball…almost exclusively, so the clock will fly by. Honestly, I think this game could go either way and will probably come down to who takes care of the ball the best. Geneseo 21 – Rochelle 20
