We will be top 25 pre-season IMO, 4-2 in the last 6, should have been 7-5 overall if 3 or 4 plays would have been made.

Really doubt it coming off a 4-8 season. But we could work ourselves into the rankings pretty quickly.

I’m not sure what we’ll be, but if we get past Ohio State and start 5-0, watch out...the team will be playing with a swag we haven’t seen in some time

I like the optimism, and I'm sure there will be some improvement from just being in year 2 of the same system.

But the two glaring weaknesses (OL play and front 7 vs run) just dont seem like they will be fixed completely in one offseason. I do think they can be improved, but it's going to be almost the exact same guys playing those spots on D, and at OT.

Is tony fair an early enrollee? And that OT from Minnesota? Need somebody who can get to the QB, just not seeing it next year unless some guys make really big jumps.

Stop baggin on the OL, They made Iowa's DL their little ***** in the 4th which is the quarter that matters most when all is said and done and paved the way for 160 or so Total Offense and 15 pts against the 8th ranked Total D in the nation, so just stop!

What matters most is the final score. I shouldn't have to explain it to you but that is how sports work.

It wasn't the O that lost the game. it was a blown coverage on that 4th and 8. Read the rest of that post you quoted on. The O recovered from it's miscues.

Yes, I fully agree. Both lines are not inept anymore but are far away from being great. As you mention, they'll surely improve, which is very good, but they both have a long ways to go.

Yeah, read my post that was quoted. I didn't blame it all on the OL.

We get a real pass rush and no reason we can’t be 12-0. With similar push to this year. We lose to OSU, Wisconsin, and a couple of others. We have to be able to pressure the QB without sending everyone on 3rd and 4th and long. We need a DL player that finishes like Suh.

Depending on what urbs does, we might be favored in all 12 when lines come out in july or August.

Would we be a home dog to wisky or iowa? I doubt it.

A team that went 4-8 isnt going to be a preseason favorite to go 12-0...

I’m about as big of an optimist about this first season with frost as anyone, but predicting that we are going to be a favorite in every game is the same type of fantisy that led to people being pissed about the results of this season

I think there are a lot of reasons to be hopeful but let’s not get crazy and start drifting into absurdism. Unrealistic expectations lead to discontent and meltdowns

The last three games will be very difficult. Wisconsin, Maryland, and Iowa. MD is definitely a trap game, and they played OSU down to the wire and beat Texas, so they can definitely beat us if we don't bring our A game.

That’s how I see it.
Lose to osu at home due to lack of defense
Wisconsin running back has their usual 200+ yard game.
Purdue we always seem to lose a game we should win.

Finally beat Iowa in a low scoring snowy game. Which I will be at and probably be to drunk to remember the 1st half

I was going to post a thread next week asking the over/under on how many weeks it would be until someone predicted an 11 win season.

Turns out it was but seconds after turning out the lights on a 4-8 season.

7-5 .….which would be a good step forward after a disappointing 4-8 season. Defense is still a weakness.

Anyone making a prediction for next year should also have to post what they predicted this year to give us all perspective. :) I said 6-6 this year. I will say 8-4 next year.
