Purdue is just down-right awful and has been the few years....but they will treat this like winning the national championship simply because Purdue is in the Big 10.

A very enjoyable game. The hate that some of our fans have, and some of their fans have, against each other is what I have never understood. We aren't rivals. We don't play. So we should pull for each other until we do play. It's good for the state to have WVU or MU on national TV and doing positive things. Anything good for MY state is good for me! Perhaps that's the problem. Too many WVU fans live in other states and don't understand that fact.

Anyways, enjoyable game. MU won't be unbeatable in their conference like they were last year (except for WKU game). They will lose 3-4 games this year.

That "Homewrecker" sure got my brother's attention.

When they showed the crew trying to eat one in 12 minutes, my brother immediately emailed me with a "did you see that dog?"

The most amazing thing about that game for me was the fact that Darrell Hazell wore a long sleeved turtle neck shirt in that heat. I think he also had a thin vest on over the shirt.

I use to root for Marshall when they were I-AA. Then they moved up, brought the attitude like they owned the state, so I had no use for them after that.

A perfect season would one in which WVU won all of its games and the Green Thunder Cows lost all of theirs.

When that happens the world will be in balance.

Those that have replied against Marshall, how many of you currently LIVE in this great state of WV? I'm interested to see if my theory is right.

I do, and the constant trash spewed from the Herd fans I work with is ridiculous!!

Ahh, they are in the minority. Most of the Marshall fans I work with or have encountered are pretty respectful. The others are a lot like some of our fans....annoying. Every fanbase has those types. You probably have the unfortunate luck of working with them. Personally, I like it when both universities are doing well.

I lived in WV for 59 years after being born there, in Ohio for the last 4, where I have also met Marshal grads doing the same thing.

Well I must work with them all, because not one of them is level headed!! My work days are just so much better when they lose!! Already hearing the talk of how bad they'd whoop us since they beat a big bad Big 10 team!!

I was B&R in WV, have since worked/lived in 6 different states, and now reside in Florida. Maybe because I've been exposed to so many different college teams and fan bases, all the while wishing I were closer to the fans bases for which I was familiar in WV. I grew up going to Marshall games but later graduated from WVU. I agree with the other poster, I don't see Marshall & WVU as rivals. The country is too big and life is too short to waste time debating over two schools in West Virginia. On the weekends, I try to watch some of both games and hope they both win.
