This guy loves football, detail and learning. If you haven't watched this video, watch it. He's going to have you pumped up enough to run through a brick wall. And he's coordinated a defense for the national champs and the best head coach in an era. This guy is the goods. Everyone support him.

Man, it's a refreshing change after the last 15 years.

The Coach's radio show will actually be interesting.

Love this guy's intensity, vision, approach, demeanor, perspective, attitude . . . . .

But he said several times "It's a process . . . . .
And he said "a package" a lot.

You can't let the bad experiences of the past ruin the future for you. For example, I will rooting for Rutgers to go to 1-0 against Washington next year.

I'm just happy to finally try something new from that whole Paterno tree both direct and indirect offshoots. Bielema/Meyer are 2 good names to learn from and he's been a solid defensive guy. Just want to see who he chooses as his OC and what kind of budget we have.

He had me at "We gotta create problems, and put pressure on the quarterback."

Ash is from the same town as the fictional Radar O'Reilly from the TV show M*A*S*H - Ottumwa, Iowa.

Lets hope that Rutgers will finally be allowed to go at least 2-0 from now on.

This guy is all about defense. He is highly credited for helping the OSU defense excel especially during their NC run. He's not a big recruiting guy, but I sure think he'll be able to close with that intensity he has. Not a salesy bullshitting bone in this guy's body. Honest, focused and direct to the point. Never smiles. Never makes a joke. Just straight business. Football lifer. I am really happy about the hire.

I saw another video and liked him a lot. He emphasizes effort, intensity and consistency over schemes (important still but secondary to fire in the belly). He's against "guru defenses" which have become a plague imo (on offense too). I don't know how he handles a NYC media meat market but coming from a OSU I think he's more ready for that than if he came from some smaller stage. I'm encouraged

I think he can recruit base on the interview. We need to back this decision and allow him at least 2-3 years to turn it around. In the fourth year, we will have the money if we have to make another decision.

These old posts are so revealing - amazing how many could not see this coming. The guy just simply never built any recruiting momentum - kids are smart.

Lol. Just from the first 30 secs.

Pressure on the QB? Check

Confusion on 3rd down? Check

Unfortunately, the QB under pressure is ours, while the confusion on 3rd down seems to apply to both our offense & defense. All hat, no cattle.

So I guess brining pressure and causing confusion only works at OSU. Because all I've seen here is base package with an occasional blitz from one guy from the outside. That's not confusing coach.
