Are we gonna win?6:30pm B1G+
The Huskies (18-6, 8-5) visit Carver to tackle the Hawkeyes (18-5, 9-3).
The hawks are on the struggle bus, losing 3 straight games. Washington is 6-2 in their last 8 games, which includes a road win at Maryland.
This a near must win for the Hawkeyes before they get on the road (Nebby and Purdue). I’m hoping the 6 day break helped Iowa figure out how to win without McCabe.

That and fitty % from 3.Turnovers

Iowa 9
the biggest reason we’re leading this game
She should have been starting Stremlow all along, but better late than never and I like that she was open to changing course. Chit chat was phenomenal again tonight.Sweet dime by Chit Chat. IA stagnant without her in.
Stremlow brings more to the table right now than Deal. I like the move by Jan to have Stremlow start.
I think it was the right move for the California games, having Deal playing at the level she did vs OSU would’ve raised this teams ceiling exponentially so you roll the dice. But yeah that experiment should’ve ended vs Minnesota. She should have been starting Stremlow all along, but better late than never and I like that she was open to changing course. People laughed when I said she was the most athletic person on the team. That was an Ugly game. Damn we miss McCabe so much more than anyone could imagine
And we are still laughing.People laughed when I said she was the most athletic person on the team.
Sorry but she wasn't the most athletic on the team. She made the other team hunt for her, to try not to let her shoot which opened things up some. Her defense and rebounding was the best it had ever been. And she was a steady player that didn't make very many mistakes. They seem very out of sink without her imoPeople laughed when I said she was the most athletic person on the team.
Which is an incredibly damning statement..........That was an Ugly game. Damn we miss McCabe so much more than anyone could imagine
I’ll agree to disagree, but I wasn’t surprised at all how much of a loss she’d be.Sorry but she wasn't the most athletic on the team. I think she’s those, too.Replace the word 'athletic" with smart and experienced to go along with her shooting stroke and I'd whole heartily agree.
Nice win to the break the streak and another top 25 team in the quiver. (Looks over shoulder for Big Z to start raging
I agree they miss McCabe, but don’t look at the 65 points and assume ugly. Iowa averaged 1.048 points per possession, missed a number of good looks and turned it over just nine times. That was an Ugly game. Damn we miss McCabe so much more than anyone could imagine
You actually complimented the team. Why would I be raging? And yes it’s a nice win.Nice win to the break the streak and another top 25 team in the quiver. (Looks over shoulder for Big Z to start raging
I don't think that McCabe is missed all that much on the offensive end. She was only averaging 7 points and 2 assists per game with a 47% EFG% in conference play. I think her excellent defense is what's been missed most of all and I think that Jan exacerbated that by replacing her with Addie who is still learning how to play defense at this level. Stremlow isn't yet quite as good as McCabe at that end, but she's much tougher and more aggressive than Deal, is a better rebounder, and doesn't get lost like Addie still does at times.I agree they miss McCabe, but don’t look at the 65 points and assume ugly. Spaces the floor. No team is dumb enough to not guard her closely because of a short shooting slump. She made 2.21 threes per game over her two years as a starter. Can’t tell me Iowa wouldn’t take that back.I don't think that McCabe is missed all that much on the offensive end. They guard Chit chat, Stremlow, and Deal the same way. She was very mistake free on offense for sure, but context is important and part of that low turnover rate was a function of her never being called upon to handle the ball or create for others. Her assist rate was less than half that of CCW and Stremlow, and the lowest of any guard getting minutes in conference play.Spaces the floor. Averaged right around a one turnover per 40 which is pretty remarkable.
And they should have - she is much more athletic than most gave her credit for but Kylie is far more athletic than her and I would venture Callie Levin and Hannah are too.People laughed when I said she was the most athletic person on the team.
There is literally no shot Hanna cant miss.. but she had a hell of a nightHS missed bunny
Deal turnover for easy score
Lolol.. The fact that she can make some three's {when she's unguarded) in NO way makes her the most athletic player on the team, and to keep saying that is just silly. She's not. Now we miss the threat of her dropping 3 or 4 threes in a given game, there's no doubt about that.People laughed when I said she was the most athletic person on the team.
