lester almost certainly had high hopes for plays aligned with his skillset but we never executed one of them successfully this year
Just could never quite make an impact. I think they see the potential by the amount of opportunity they gave him early on and it just didn’t materialize. To me he’s just not physical enough to be a running back and probably not quick/fast enough to be a receiver.

Not unexpected. McNeil and Williams jumped over him. Have also read that Dean has been moved to RB.

Not too surprised, it was bound to happen eventually with how many guys we have in the room. Moulton will likely still be number one next year, and I'm really excited for McNeil's development. He's got those skills that you can't teach.

Wish the young man well. Glad he got to score a TD in last year's bowl game. Sure looked like the play he got creamed in the backfield vs MSU was set up to be a throw back to Gronowski, but he got lit up as soon as he got the ball. Glad we still ended up winning, but that might've turned out a pretty memorable play for the season had the blocking been there.
In my arm chair opinions he didn’t have great vision or patience. Great attitude and blocker. Maybe a transition back to WR is necessary. Just my take. He was passed by everyone it seemed
The other four backs are very good. I hope Washington goes somewhere he can play.

Good luck in your next chapter young man. Seemed to be a team player with a position switch and always seemed to work hard. Just not quite the explosiveness that other backs have. Hope he find a great opportunity for himself.
I am guessing Purdue will be calling…they seem to do well with our former players.

Edit: I think it was the win over Ohio State when it looked like he ripped off a 12-yard run (estimate from my seat). From E-Hawk to Hawkeye, we were lucky to have him.

Indeed we were. 3rd -and-9, IIRC, and suddenly, 1st down!
It was great. Good chance it was his longest gain of the season but that's okay. Sam stepped up.
