Of course he knew...these guys are buds. You hire your buds in the coaching profession (and lots of professions) and you give them lots of chances. It is normal to do so, I don't care for Meyer but I totally get it.

I coach and I have had the chance to bring people on the staff...I have NEVER once thought of anyone but friends first. I never would.

These incidents aren't surprising. Smith's antics on Twitter were incredibly immature. And if you hit a woman, especially your pregnant wife, your emotional immaturity is off the charts.
