A gigantic EFF you to the fanbase hire? Or is Mitch really dumb enough to think he was a hire worthy of UK?

We were coming off him suffering through a hire that was forced upon him. He hated cal and hated that he was essentially neutered from making the hire he wanted.

did he hire Mark Pope knowing he would be a gigantic failure?

Im beginning to think he did.

I mean, he's getting negatively recruited whenever he goes after a high school guy because everyone says he will recruit over you in the portal. Then he gets into bidding wars with coaches on guys that aren't worth it, and then get gets played by agents. The administration isn't helping him. I mean this is a problem from the top down. Mitch Barnhart made a deal with JMI thinking there were going to be a congressional law passed and of course there wasn't, and likely won't be. So now you're asking a guy to make up everything with one arm tied behind his back. UK screwed the pooch and I don't think any coach could be successful under the situation and he's not much a recruiter anyway.

No. It was Mitch being lazy and knowing that he was about to retire, he wanted a "yes man".

It was all of that. But no one, even Mitch, could have seen it being this bad.

Pope has to be trying to get fired. He can’t be this bad if he is trying at all to win.

i find it hard to believe that no one could succeed at Kentucky currently.

Hell, the football coach is landing recruits.

I swear other coaches must be accusing him of being a sexual deviant or something because this guy gets avoided by high school kids like he’s on a sex offender list.

Maybe the Mormon church has put him on their destroy list.

he bails- so they say fine we will start trying and surpass you while spreading salacious rumors.

something has to explain how awful it is. Something other than just he sucks.
