I was about to ask the same question. He could make a pretty big difference if the defense is able to play like they did today.

Rahmir is maxed in terms of games to save RS. Certainly hope Wandale can at least spare Mills some time for a breather. Bet we will see Luke M at receiver next week.

Damn. We are thin. Sucks. Cool to see Mccafrey switch to help out. Hope we can get healthy in a week.

This actually concerned me. We have a bevy of WR's and we move a QB there instead of being able to find someone who could get the job done?

So you've got a guy that steps in and plays almost flawlessly. How darn hard can it be then and why do our receivers sometimes don't know what they're doing. Congratulations to those that stepped up to the plate

McCaffrey is a QB but will still get some snaps throughout his career at WR for various reasons - trick play, just too damn athletic not to see the field, etc.

Having Wandale against Iowa would help give us a chance but who knows if he will be able to go.

Rahmir played his 4th game so he is done now. Bright future for him. An off-season in the weight room and getting comfortable with the offense will show big for him.

If it means a win on Friday to get bowl eligible it should be all hands on deck. Red shirt or not. Those bowl practices more important then one player red shirting IMO

travel roster restrictions make it tough to bring too many WRs. Williams played a lot but McCaffrey is a special athlete who opens up other play calling opportunities like the WR pass. Once you call that play the D has to stay honest.

Johnson may be good enough that he wouldn't be around for a 5th year anyway. If he wants to play, you play him. This is an important game for the program. There will be more RBs like him.

Says a lot about Luke, but you are right it also says slot about our current crop of WR’s.

Wasn't that his 4th yesterday? Also, if we make a bowl how does that work for the 4 game rule? Can anyone play in a bowl game since it is not regular season?

Speilman needs to see Wandale, Luke, Johnson on the field getting the ball in space, or it is going to be a long day against the Hawks

All hands on deck and Frosty needs to coach his *** off Friday.

Now, if we can jump out and get a lead, get the crowd involved, there is a fighting chance here. But it's on Frosty to dial-up some crazy hair-brained scheme Iowa isn't looking for, and out coach Ferentz. GBR

I’m glad they ran the trick play this week with McCaffrey. Hopefully it opens up some stuff because Iowa has to honor his throwing. Secondly, it will probably give the Iowa coaches PTSD to watch a McCaffrey on film again.

Ha. No doubt. Maybe we can sneak big bro Christian into the backfield. He made them look like a HS team.

I only want to see Wan'dale if he is 100%. Frost uses him as a crutch with playcalling and Held keeps Mills on the sidelines while we watch the W.R. get body slammed between the tackles for 2 yards. The offense turns into the Wan'dale show and it's too predictable.

Being forced to use Mills and JD has done them a world of good.

W.R. needs to be used as a complement to Mills to create space like they were with triple option yesterday. Where the hell has triple been all year? Credible threat inside = space outside.

And MY GOD stop throwing lateral passes to Jack Stoll and use him like a TE for God sakes.

Take a page from your mentor, when Osborne had QBs who were poor passers he got creative in the run game with 2 backs and QB run as well as using Wingbacks. Golly, we have those!

I watched the 96 VaTech game the other day, I forget how hideous Scott was as a passer. So rather than set him up to fail by dialing up tons of pass plays his coach learned to use his gifts as a powerful runner and elevate his game. All they did was win a title.

Go and do likewise, Scotty.

I have been more in the wait and see and prove it camp regarding SF. That said, you’re asking a lot. By game 12 scheme changes are pretty much impossible, and most if not all of a teams package is on tape.

this late team’s young players aren’t young anymore if they’ve been getting reps and PT, health for every team isn’t anywhere near its best...gonna see teams for what they are.

I think it will be a very competitive game. Iowa, with all their flaws is more talented and mature, but Nebraska has good players too. Intangibles probably are a wash or Nebraska lean...Nebraska’s fan base is soooo hungry, team is more motivated b/c it’s do or die. Iowa is playing for pride after an emotional and gut wrenching season.

barring TOs, I think we’re in for a fantastic game where Nebraska’s O will make Iowa’s strength squirm a bit, and Nebraska’s D will make Iowa’s O look more formidable than it has except in spurts this year.

the last variable is the weather. It looks like it will be yucky. If it makes both Os one dimensional, I don’t think either can march up and down the field with little help from the passing game- hello kickers and a low scoring affair.

Yeah slow down on shipping players to the draft as juniors. I recall people having Adrian as a first rounder this April on this board, now we are practically done with him as a starter.

RJ looks like a good one. He couldn't quite believe his eyes yesterday, he was making good cuts and finding space and he was a tick slow to believe it and hit the gas pedal. Needs a little more power in his legs, too. Got ankle tackled several times.

Looked like a true freshman out there, but a good one. RB depth might be nice next year.

Noticed the same thing. Physically still looks like a freshman but with some normal development could be a good one.

BS. Frost hasn't really done squat this year with this offense in big games, and he has the following weapons into Iowa (potentially with Wandale):

Speilman. Nuff said
Wandale: Legit 5* talent
Luke: Get him on the field! WR, RB, slot, wherever! He's a McCafrey
Mills: Legit 4* running back.

Go get em Frost. GBR

Offensive line has started to show some Flashes I'm very anxious to see what wandale can do when he gets some holes to run through
Hopefully he's in the slot and not RB. Mills and Johnson, wandale, McCaffrey, JD, Warner, Hickman.

Like our chances. Illinois was exposing the bird eyes

Yes sir! I've been shocked the last couple games with our OLine. Really shocked.....they were horrible beyond belief and then *POOF*.....they're actually starting to block people. Love it!
