Walk on or not, it looks as if he is the best QB that’s played for them this season.

That's not saying a lot. Their QB have been inept this year but their offense still better with their new OC.

Nebraska was 20-13
Well your offense couldn’t had been any worse last season in total offense 130th last year, 101 this year..

I have come to the conclusion, the OP [ @SkulzNBonz ] is a well cloaked Iowa fan in major undercover black ops disguise. Why did it take me so long to figure it out... the OP appears to have a small bit of intelligence, which of course, goes against the very grain of an Iowa fan.
At least I trained @SkulzNBonz to just STFU with his word salads.

Are you sure about that? He played in 4 games and was 4-17 passing his one year at CSU.
Not starting at Colorado St. There one year only. He is a sophomore. Correct on stats, and that is his career stats as well.

He'll be attacking an NU secondary that can't cover or tackle.
Come on now, you've never struck me as the overly reactionary type. I think our secondary will do fine on Friday. Especially Wright who played sick last week and was clearly affected. I think the defense will recover some face this week.

I hope so, but other than OSU, we haven't stopped anybody for 5 weeks now.

We've been a very poor cover or tackling team in the secondary all year.

Has anything changed since this article was posted last SATURDAY? I’m not convinced this guy will start until we here something in a day or two.

Nothing like posting a 4 day old article…
Here's your answer!

They have 4 QBs Stratton is QB3 with Cade and Brandon down for the year. Their QB4 James Resar which is true Freshman is a true dual threat QB with legit track speed. That dude right there could vould be a problem if Stratton goes down. Resar has no playing experience this year. Stratton was the starter against Maryland last week.

Help me out here… this article is even older and says McNamara will start for Maryland. He didn’t, but presumably would start if he is medically cleared for the game on Friday.

Where does it say officially that a walk on is the definitive starter for Iowa on Friday? Not that Ferentz is planning on it as stated in the first article you posted, but absolutely the starter as your thread title clearly states?

-- Jackson Stratton said that right when Iowa offered him a preferred walk-on spot, he didn't hesitate to take it. Stratton cited that his belief in himself and what his abilities are. He told us that right when Iowa reached out-- he knew he was going to come here. "I can play at this level. " 20 hours ago

No comment? @timsun?
Sorry it took me more than nine minutes to respond lol… how in the hell does that prove that he will be the starter Friday? It says that he is confident, but that’s it. Maybe you don’t understand research… And maybe I should stop taking the bait. You’re trolling is evident…

Sounds like Sullivan is available if needed as well. Sullivan was great against NW and WIS but then had a bad game at UCLA. Some of the UCLA thing could have been the injury as he didn't seem right after the first qt.

How can that be? We all know that the walk on will be the starter. There’s no way Sullivan could be available, just read the thread. Oh, and by the way, is this thread starter one of your trolls?

Still, Ferentz confirmed that walk-on-redshirt sophomore quarterback Jackson Stratton remains Iowa’s starter headed into Friday versus the Huskers.

I don’t care if a young Tom Brady is behind center for Iowa on Friday.. corners need to play the line and stop routes, safeties need to keep heads out of butts and don’t get beat deep.. also tackle (#2) and linebackers need to be gap sound and take holes in line of scrimmage not ate up by other players! Is that too much to ask of a D1 football player?

Even though we are ranked 66th in Pass Defense, their 129th ranked Passing Offense isn't anywhere good enough to have a banner day throwing the ball against us period. I think it's hilarious that posters on here think Iowa's OL and DL are all world when they're not even in the same galaxy as Ohio State's and neither is their offense and defense! What did we do to OSU in their house again? Oh, that's right We humilated them in a game we expected to win but got royally fk'd out of. What did the Blackshirts do to both their OL and offense again? We wrecked it plus we had success moving the ball against their D with Satt calling the plays and scoring on their at the time #2 ranked Defense.

What happened to poor Herky in Columbus again? They got ***** slapped and beaten through the turf! Our game with OSU offensively was pretty much a wash. 273 yards total offense to their 285. We were at least balanced 152 yards passing and 121 yards rushing. Ohio St 221 yards passing and 64 yards rushing. Even with Ohio States retooled OL with 3 backups starting is still light years better than Herky's they were starting 2 backups in our game and we wrecked it which is something even Indiana had no prayer of doing with 3 backups starting. The players aren't looking at this game as a rivalry game, they're looking at it as a revenge game and now we can do something about it. Iowa is a hated rival just like Colorado and Wisconsin and we're gonna do the same thing to Iowa we did to those other 2 and said the same thing before the Sconnie game. This game isn't gonna be close like everyone thinks it's gonna be and I'm not calling a certain number of points. Imho, starting with this game Iowa is gonna be back to being our little ***** and we'll send Kirk into retirement as a loser! Kinda funny, he's gonna lose the same way he's gonna leave the B1G as he came into the Big Ten his 1st year. What a send off!

Not really worried about Iowa passing, just about Husker linebackers being gap sound and not making whiff tackles on Johnson! Not leaving big gaps for their tight ends to be able to sit in middle of the zone wide open. Short and simple!

I don’t care who starts at QB for Iowa. It does not matter. If our defense executes we will shut them down no matter who it is. But if our defense does not execute and plays like they did against Indiana and UCLA, then the Iowa QB, whoever it is, will have a good day and we will lose.

In other words, the ball is in our court and we control our destiny. Fans that are pinning their hopes on Iowa having their water boy line up at QB need to refocus their attention on our execution instead. Play well, we win. Play like ****, we lose. Simple as that.

Iowa's O is slow as molasses including their OL. Look at KJ's rushing output 3 out of 4 of Iowa's losses. I'm tellin ya, this DL is gonna wreck their OL throwing a money wrench in their offense just like we did to tOSU which was done by UCLA, Michigan St and Ohio St. KJ is a powerful bruising back but not overly fast. I still think we hold him to under 100 yards rushing. Imo, our speed on both sides of the ball are gonna run circles around them. Here's the thing, Wisconsin's loss to them was early in the season and if the game were played now Sconnie beats them and The Badgers have more team speed than Iowa and they can throw the ball. Iowa woulda gotten mutilated by Oregon if they had played this year.

Whoever is back there, I’m sure they will start off 8 for 8 passing with perfect passes and excellent choices. We seem to make bad QBs look good, at least in the first half anyways

Resar is not even being mentioned as QB for Friday. As of Oct 29th he's been moved to WR.
No I just stated that he's their fourth QB and that's the dude I would be worried about if he got in the game, he hasn't played at all this year. So if it was just left down to those two his speed in his maneuverability would make up for his lack of experience if something happened to Stratton. Sure Cade and Brandon have been practicing this week but think they're QB number four would be likely to go in if something happened to Stratton. Those two others may be practicing but their injuries may prevent them from being in the game. I think that's more of a head game than anything because Kirk stated regardless Jackson still the starter for the game on Friday. We'll see

The're is one HUGE outlier that could put a monkey wrench to everything I said about this game which would be absolutey HORRENDUS officiating which we've lived in all year. I was shocked as hell last Saturday as we got all of the maginal calls go in our favor and another shock being it was Wisconsin, out of their 7 penalties they got called twice for holding which is an rarity we get those calls in our favor. How many times since we've been in the B1G have teams been called for holding against us? We may have favor in getting the calls go in our favor Friday because of what we proved to them by the way we beat Wisconsin and getting over tyhe bowl drought the way we did plus these officiating crews have had to eat crow after having to apologize twice. Not counting on it though!
