East Forsyth and page will reportedly square off in what has years passed been almost a state championship game. While I don't personally think this game will be a good match up, may be a fun game to go see if anyone's interested. I'll keep everyone updated. So far they plan to play at BB & T stadium because in years passed page and east Forsyth sold out there rather large stadiums as well as a good experience for players.

That sure is a large gate that they both would give up. Especially means more to East since they have to split gate with other Forsyth county schools when they play them.(playing Page, no split) Plus loss of concessions is big. I can't see how this would benefit either team, especially EF.

I know Southern Durham and Hillside have played games at NCCU. I agree Sportsnut, hurts your gate when you play regular season games in college stadiums.

Been to this game the last two years. Couple of thoughts-

- Its a good competitive game but its hardly "almost" a state title game. It is exactly what it is....two good competitive teams playing a close game. Just like many games every friday night.

- Two years ago at EF it was a pretty crappy night in terms of weather so it had an effect on the crowd I am sure. The area where I was sitting on the EF home side was far from sold out.

- Last years crowd at Page was bigger ( weather much better) but again I sat behind the Page band and it wasnt full.

- The Dudley/Page game at Kirby drew way more people and was 3 deep along the tracks behind the endzones but they still never stopped selling tickets.

In addition Wake has Florida State at home on that Saturday. Find it hard to believe they would want the headache of a HS football game on Friday night so they can turn the stadium for what may be the biggest crowd of the year in 12-18 hours.

Carver Used to play Parkland At Bowman Gray (wssu) and sell it out during the state title years.
Not a college owned stadium, City of WS owns it. But as someone else said I don't think it is against rules. And the real sad part of that statement is the last time I saw Carver Parkland game 2 years ago they would have fit fans in a middle school stadium.

Misinformation may be spot on. I work at WSSU those games were near capacity but not quite sold out yet a great atmosphere to watch two high school teams nearly fill a small college stadium. I also agree if played at Wake it would leave a lot to be desired from an atmosphere standpoint alone.

East forsyth tried to play a game last year at Wake Forest but because of floods the championship sites weren't locked in and wasn't allowed.

East Forsyth and other schools (Reagan, West) traditionally rent out the Wake Forest game field or practice facility's sometimes in the summer and later on in the seasons. They have done the same with Guilford college to be able to get occasional practice on turf fields.

Why not play a smaller venue, if they are just hell bent on playing at a college? Guilford College has a great stadium, Boman Gray is an option, or even NCAT &a Greensboro College.... but no way a HS football game could come even halfway close to selling out at WFU... it's a 31k cap stadium, and lately Wake can't even sell out some games.... not to mention the money the schools will lose.
