Actually, we topped the list of 5-7 candidates, thanks to our program's (players) academic performance. On occasion, the NCAA gets something right. And we did beat Syracuse and Illinois, the other two candidates, on the field and in the classroom.

I guess it's fans being competitive-minded. And I'm competitive-minded too - but only when I'm actually playing in a competition of some sort. Not as a fan.
But as I said, each to their own. And I know that, if WF fans showed up at an RU tailgate, Nuts would welcome them and be a gracious host. So no big deal.

They did, more or less. Both coaches have been talking a bit about it in the press conferences. You can tell they like each other a lot.
Pretty ignorant statement. Football isn’t the priority at Wake Forest. The Rutgers turnout didn’t look very good on TV either.

this was their dream season. At one point they were top 10 with dreams of the playoff
but then the wheels came off. Beat by UNC and CRUSHED by the only decent ACC teams they played
they still get a decent bowl against a good Texas AM team and then they have to settle for a 5-7 Rutgers team
what a let down for them after the dream start to their season LOL

Nothing wrong with Wake Forest, a tiny school pretty campus with very little athletic support - the game ends and we will never hear from them again
Actually if you were there you would’ve known that our turnout was actually pretty impressive when you take into account the fact that we only had a week to make plans. But, you’re really not that much of a fan, so whatever lol.
Dude the crowd on both sides was beyond embarrassing. Impressive? Yea ok.
Yes, there is plenty of valid excuses for fans not showing up. But it was bad. Hopefully our next bowl there is no excuse and fans can travel and pack the place.

The guy next to me was a neutral fan.. drove down from Myrtle Beach and asked me if he should punch the Wake Forest big mouth behind us. He was serious.

I fully realize what Rutgers record was this year. We all do. We all understand that playing in the gator bowl was a gift…a gift that we did not deserve based on the results on the field. That is understood by all here.

I’m totally fine with the game today. We got a free game. The young players got some good opportunities to play, etc. we lost but so what … we shouldn’t have been playing anyway

I would have expected the community to support the bowl as well. That was a failure as well. I assume due to Covid. The Sun Bowl was empty as well. The bowls are dying when it comes to in person attendance.
A very expensive exclusive HS that few of us would even come close to being accepted too
Wake endowment is 1.3B. Apples and apples Rutgers endowment is 1.6B. Small for its size but growing faster than most universities.
