Tell me about it... I just finished watching Batman mask of the phantasm in honor of Kevin Conroy.
I’ve been so sad and bummed about that. Dude was a legend. I’m gonna be a blubbering mess when Hamill goes. That’s gonna hit me in two places of my childhood. Hamill is SEVENTY-ONE and I’m not ok with that.
Oh, me too. I wish I went to that Lexington Comic con when he showed up. I would have gotten him to do the 3 goggles and taps him swing "Go Big Blue!!!"
50 years old and I still watch DC animated movies. They are better than most of these marvel movies and Batman animated series was the best.
BTAS was awesome. The Superman series at about the same time was awesome as well. So was JLA and Batman Beyond. All just wonderfully done and well written. DC and WB would do well to remember that and make its live action more like those. I throughly enjoyed The Batman with Pattinson. Very dark and brooding like freaking Batman is supposed to be. I gave Pattinson a fair shake and my goodness was I surprised. Dude is a great actor that got stuck with that awful Tailight series. Joker with Phoenix was also well done. Was dark without being overly edgy. THAT is what us DC fans want. I like Marvel too but it’s more campy and complete *** pull plot armor. I like DC being a “bit” more realistic.
Nolan’s Batverse started off really well but then that third one killed it for me. I’m hoping this reboot trends better. Get the likes of Paul Dini in there. If you haven’t played the Arkham series of games, play them. Conroe and Hamill play their roles Paul, who wrote a lot of the instant classic BTAS episodes helped write for those games. It’s like playing an adult BTAS.
No one will be able to do Bats as well as Conroy did. He was also able to lighten it and change his voice for Bruce to give the characters two distinct patterns. And the reasoning he did? Because police and federal agents could hear the same voice and figure out who was Batman really quick. Who puts that much thought into VA? Kevin did. Hamill comparing Jokers voice to a musical instrument was amazing too. God, we need good talent like that to make another renaissance in kids shows. Adults with kids like to watch too. And even us nerds like a good superhero show.
