We have been watching Waco the last couple of nights and I forgot how crazy all of that stuff was and how long that stand off lasted. If ya'll are bored and looking for something to watch I would recommend it.
I lived in Waco during that time. I was close friends with a reporter and a cameraman who were standing right behind the ATF guys who were in front of the front door. Neither one of these guys are “pro” law enforcement, but they have always maintained that the first shots came through those doors from inside that building. The reporter was hit twice-both rounds from an AK47. Vernon Howell, as he was known around Waco (aka David Koresh) was having sex with those young girls under the age of 13-some of whom he himself had fathered. All these movies/documentaries always try to make the ATF look like a bunch of cowboys. The reason they were there to serve the arrest warrant was because it was well known that they had automatic weapons and enough ammo to hold off an army. They were never coming out of there, period. The mistake the government made was waiting 50-something days to do something. The women and children and most of the men found in the rubble had been killed by close-contact wounds to the head-with a .45 ACP.
Yeah this was how I remembered it. And the fire had come from within too. Who knows how it all truly went down. Probably in the middle.I lived in Waco during that time. As long as you're not under oath it is not a crime to tell the most outrageous lies imaginable.
Ironic that someone started this post. We started Waco last night as well. Bottom line from Waco and Sandy Ridge - when the feds come to serve you a search warrant, don’t be a dick. It didn’t have to go down like that.
