34 33 Central City. WC just scored and faked the extra point. Holder threw a shovel pass that was good for two, but was called back by the ref saying that someone was down, either the holder or carrier. The carrier was obviously in, however.
Some confusion here: the ref pointed at his knee saying it was down, but was he talking about the holder? If so, that's the wrong call. Holder's knee can be down there.
No dog in this fight--just watching online. But refs mighta blown one there.

WC goes for it on 4th and 1 from the 45. Stopped short, but CC is called for a facemask. Also a hold on WC on the play, but it results in a 1st down for WC. 15 yard penalty. Not sure why the ref called holding on WC, perhaps it was a signal mistake.
I live in wilber but no dog in the fight either. Wilber-clatonia does fireworks after every game its not classless at all I know other schools that do it as well
It's classless, whether you think so or not. I know other schools that do it as well, too. Just because more than one school does it doesn't mean that it's right. You don't need to rub it in on a team that just lost. And you can't forget the kids on your own team that see that, too. They don't view it as adults would.
Classless. I don't hold it against the kids as it's probably some loser dads decision.
The officials did have an interesting night. They had some questionable ones go against both teams. I didn't always know what the teams/coaches were upset about but there were some moments.
CC had their chances. WC muffed a punt late in the 3rd quarter and CC recovered only to turn it over on downs in the 4th. could have put the game away there. Also missed a later 4th down by inches in WC territory as they were driving to tie the game, but good defense by WC.
Good season CC and good game by both teams.

Thats just my opinion everybody has one. In my opinion they are celebrating their teams win and all the hard work they have put in they are not doing it to rub it in the other teams face. In your opinion are fireworks "classless" in college football? Why or why not? If so every college is classless.

Fireworks are fine. It's odd to me that someone thinks it's classy. Dude if celebrating a win is classless, then I need to get out of coaching.
Coach PowerT, I never said celebrating a win is classless. I said fireworks are classless. The losing team is still on the field. The accomplishments of your student athletes should be enough. Don't need to light fireworks.

Yeah....fireworks are unnecessary in my opinion. Celebrate the win with your players, coaches and family.
Ok, I guess I was wrong. Just personally want to err on the side of sportsmanship. I was in no way trying to take away from the accomplishments of WC.

Wilber seems pretty legit, I'm surprised they have made it this far. They'll be tested next week though against Scotus. Doubt they win that one.
Wilber-Clatonia just beat a very good Central City team and did so through adversity, one of there best players was not able to play (starting FB and LB). they moved their QB to running back and made some great coaching moves. I hope they can compete against Scotus. They have a very under rated team.

I'm a fair & balanced party here...goldengecko stated "they do it EVERY game" in Wilber. That means win or lose. It's meant as entertainment for everyone not a celebration in the visitor's face. What is your problem?
