The Heritage Foundation's Election Fraud Map
The Heritage Foundation's Election Fraud Map is an interactive tool providing a sampling of proven instances of election fraud across the U.S. From @HeritageDatavizelectionfraud.heritage.org
I'm not necessrily opposed to voter ID. It's just always seemed like we're treating it as the solution to an epidemic the evidence doesn't really show exists. Sure, fraud happens. But "fraud exists" and "fraud is widespread enough to affect national elections" are two very different claims...Trump's claims have yet to be supported.
That's a fair point. I'm not saying "never." I'd like to see the issue we're trying to solve accurately described, though. Like I said, fraud exists, but not at the level to have changed the 2020 election outcome. It's like proposing a new safety reg because of a handful of incidents while telling everyone the problem is happening on a massive scale.Suppose your position is accurate, why wait?

Problem is, if the 2020 narritive isn't there, I don't think anyone would care because it's not been a huge issue.
If you were given data and only data and nothing from Trump or the media, would your faith be disturbed by JUST said data?At this juncture I think it's important that steps are taken to ensure that the public has faith in our election results.

the problem with Northern is that he knows the answer to this question is no but he'll never admit it. Fortunately even the Clemson people can see right through his schtick and recognize him for what he is.If you were given data and only data and nothing from Trump or the media, would your faith be disturbed by JUST said data?
wouldn't it be nice if our government could solve actual problems instead of grandstanding with "solutions" that actually make things worse?I think the faith is disturbed by resistance to something widely supported and easily implemented.

I'm sure fed government troop/officials at the voting booth will go a long way to that endAt this juncture I think it's important that steps are taken to ensure that the public has faith in our election results.
The only people who don’t have faith in the 2020 election are those that believe a man who lies about damn near everything - despite overwhelming evidence that the election was not compromised. At this juncture I think it's important that steps are taken to ensure that the public has faith in our election results.
Where are you voting that you don't have to show your ID?ID to register? I can be persuaded.
ID to vote? Absolutely not.
None of those things are rights in the constitution. Why would anyone not want voters to show id? You show id to buy alcohol, tobacco, weed, check into a hotel, rent a car ect.

But sure, let’s go ahead and pass a bill that will disenfranchise many legal American voters (because it is not possible to implement correctly by November) because you fell for Trump’s lies like a gullible fool.
It's a fairly easy google. Have answered it many times, and because it doesn't affect them personally, people I've provided it to always wave it away. Not doing it again. What lies have I fallen for? Post links to examples.
How would voter ID disenfranchise voters?

Vote by mailWhere are you voting that you don't have to show your ID?
seems like everybody wants honest, fair elections. The SAVE Act isn't the only way to get there. Reasonable people who have the same objective should be able to come to some reasonable compromise position where nobody gets entirely what they want but leads to fair and honest electionsThe only people who don’t have faith in the 2020 election are those that believe a man who lies about damn near everything - despite overwhelming evidence that the election was not compromised.

You literally just said we need to do this to restore trust in elections. Why don’t you trust the elections? The only reason is because you have swallowed a heaping pile of Trump’s ********. The 2020 elections have been studied to death and have been proven safe. What lies have I fallen for? Post links to examples.

Sure I’m fine with a reasonable approach. I support voter Id if done reasonably. The legislation on the table is NOT reasonable or feasible for the 2026 elections.seems like everybody wants honest, fair elections. The SAVE Act isn't the only way to get there. Reasonable people who have the same objective should be able to come to some reasonable compromise position where nobody gets entirely what they want but leads to fair and honest elections
You could require some sort of ID to register. None of this onerous proof of citizenship nonsense.seems like everybody wants honest, fair elections. The SAVE Act isn't the only way to get there. If that makes you feel superior, and a fun new way of waving away things you don’t like, sure.Is it riddled with the soft bigotry of low expectations?
So was that a yes or no?I think the faith is disturbed by resistance to something widely supported and easily implemented.
these things have been explained over and overYou literally just said we need to do this to restore trust in elections. Why don’t you trust the elections? The only reason is because you have swallowed a heaping pile of Trump’s ********. The 2020 elections have been studied to death and have been proven safe.
In general I am fine with voter ID. I am not fine with the save act for at least 5 reasons.
- Timing: there are only about 100 days until the election. There is zero chance this could be effectively implemented in that timeframe. Look at how long it took us to roll out those fancy drivers licenses for TSA - it took many years for that. Now you need people to either find their birth certificate or get a passport. You know and I know there will be many thousands if not millions of people who don’t have those documents handy. So now they have to go through some process to obtain them. Which will clog the machinery of government that is not prepped for that workload.
- IDs cost money: if we do this (and again I’m ok with voter ID) then people need to be able to get a free government issued ID. It should not cost even one red cent for a citizen to vote.
- In person registration requirement: This puts a major burden on people who live in rural areas, folks who work during regular government hours, not to mention that the offices would be overwhelmed.
- Documentation mismatches: Some millions of women don’t have a birth certificate matching their married name.
- Voter purges: this is a requirement of the act, but purging a registered voter accidentally is disenfranchising their right to vote.
Buying alcohol, renting a car, checking into a hotel, etc. aren't constitutional rights. They're commercial transactions where private businesses can set conditions. Why would anyone not want voters to show id? You show id to buy alcohol, tobacco, weed, check into a hotel, rent a car ect.
Fixed it for you- if any maga EVER went against the election conspiracy, they'd get thrown out of the movement. It's the single most uniting aspect of maga.they don't know or acknowledge it because they simply aren't allowed to...
I think if you're pro trans but think the election was completely rigged in 2020 and Trump won, you could stay, but you'd more likely be thrown out for being anti trans but believe the election was completely fair in 2020 and Trump lost.Um are you sure...

We already have those.leads to fair and honest elections
ID to register? I can be persuaded.
ID to vote? Absolutely not.
This would be a good time to remind everyone of the Russian collusion hoax, invented by the left and pushed by a complicit media. Election denying at its finest.
ID to get your drivers license? Sure.ID to register? I can be persuaded.
ID to vote? Absolutely not.
I don’t want to wait in line to vote ever again.ID to get your drivers license? Sure.
ID showing you passed your drivers license to drive? Absolutely not.
ID to show your age? Seems legit.
ID to drink in a bar? Absolutely not.
ID to identify you are who you are. Well duh.
ID to get into a Federal Building, on a plane, a doctor appointment and so on. Obviously. ID to vote, why? Fraud happens anyway, what does it matter.
Tell me how your ID is used for everything to verify you are who you say you are. Yet when it comes to voting, meh. Fraud happens anyway.
