He will last another year, but yeah at that point somebody is getting their Saban. I think it may Arkansas. Mizzou may get lucky since he’s an alumnus.
ETA: Apparently Arkansas signed DVH through 2031 so it’s not likely he’s headed there. I don’t think Vitello fits OM but who knows.

the rebels are that lucky. I will add though, they might not be willing to throw enough money into the program to make Vitello happy because they are all in on football these days.

it would have to be because Bianco retires. He’s repaired a lot of goodwill in Oxford the last few years. He’s also only 59 so he’d have to want to retire early or something. There’s a chance he’s still coaching OM 5 to 10 years from now.
Vitello will be back at some point, just a matter where. I would not rule out him going back to Knoxville if Elander underwhelms.

Someone mentioned Mizzou being his alma mater, I just don’t see him at this stage of his career taking on another program build. Tennessee may have been a nothing program when he went there but he was kind of a nobody too at the time. Whoever gets him the next go round is going to have to be willing to pay big money and have at least somewhat of a proven track record in baseball. That ain’t Mizzou.
There are about half a dozen SEC schools it could be, though. We might be one of them, although it seems like Oak is planning on being here a while so the timeline probably doesn’t work barring a surprise.

Only other way your timeline works is if OC dies because he didn’t move here to just move again to an allegedly bigger program. Bad post, just accept it.
Vitello would absolutely go to Mizzou if they paid him.
Vitello won't go anywhere without promises to back the team with NIL. That means the only likely teams in the SEC would be:
Arkansas - seems content with DVH for now, but he needs to win the big one soon or else they'll get restless
Florida - I don't think O'Sullivan is going anywhere
Georgia - I don't think Wes Johnson is going anywhere
LSU - Jay Johnson is secure for now, another down year or two and the cajuns will get stir crazy
A&M - This is the most likely potential landing spot IMO
Ole Miss - I wouldn't be surprised if TSUN freezes out Bianco to get Vitello
State - Oak isn't going anywhere
South Carolina - just hired Schnall, they won't make a move unless his team is a dumpster fire
Oklahoma - Just won the CWS. They're all set for a while
Texas - I don't think Schloss is going anywhere

Exactly. We've been hearing for a decade now that he's on the verge of being force out. He wasn't then and he's not now. He's got at least another 5-6 years left there, if not more.
Why would the Giants buy him out if there likely isn't even going to be a season next year. They could save money if they just waited and canned him before 2028
Tim Corbin is 65 and is probably looking for the exits like Saban did when his inherent recruiting advantage ended. I think Lil' Tony winds up at Vandy if he gets canned in San Fransicko. As others have mentioned, Aggy is another landing spot since they are willing to overpay for coaching services.
I've always suspected Cliff Godwin has stayed with ECU this long because he and Northern Miss have a tentative agreement that he will be Bianco's successor.
Meanwhile, we are on our sixt coach (eight if you count the interims) since he was hired.

Because we’re actually a program, not a coach. It’s literally the only sport we can say that about and a lot of schools don’t have any.

If i had to be money on any of these, I would bet we see him at Florida....they would spend the money, and I think OSullivan isn't far from hanging up the cleats for good

He'd have to be alright with no fan support. I mean maybe he would be able to pull off some NIL I suppose, but for whatever reason those California schools just don't support baseball, which is weird considering how good they were for a century or so.
Arizona has tradition, but they friggin bulldozed their stadium and moved to the minor league park. I think Arizona State does the same.
All those teams lived off the available talent but now they a lot of those guys are leaving. I do think USC is actually making a push to actually have a real baseball program again.
