Dynes and McBride.

I’m a take on both (he said reluctantly).

I guess it’ll be Dynes vs. Potter for backup C.

In the only highlight package I could find of Dynes he blocked Folgueras twice, so that’s cool.

McBride bringing the Alamanor role back.

We really need to land Graves or Milo at the 4, and I’m good with these guys end of rotation.

I guess Devon Williams is in this mix too. Is he visiting today too? The rim protection will be nice if we add him.

Neither McBride or Dynes are top 300 in the portal rankings. But, probably better than walk ons I guess. I’m just gonna tell myself that rankings aren’t always right and hope for some diamonds in the rough. This is Kentucky basketball now.

if you Google Justin McBride, it mostly brings up a bull rider. So that’s something.

McBride is ranked 203 and 41st best PF in the portal. Underwhelming sure but he is more talented overall than either guy we lost last season IMO. He is undersized is the only issue but has a big body and he can score which is something we didn’t have from the 4 spot last season.

Haha, MO who left would pack this guy’s **** for him, some of you guys are living in a fantasy world.

I should have clarified. On3 doesn’t have them in the top 300. And I hope you’re right, but if you told me I could have him or Mo D, I’d rather have Mo.

From Anthony Davis, Jamal Mashburn, and Dan Issel to this.

Wow.

Are we sure we haven't fallen to Indiana status? Not historically, but in real time relevancy?

This is a sheer trash heap conversation, but we've got an incapable coach and AD running the circus, so there ya go...

Merely the day’s agenda, boss. That’s what is on the calendar. Just below "load dishwasher before work".

If he can handle bull riding I'm sure the SEC will be a breeze

Think about it, Pope will go down in history as the worst coach in our history. Worse than Gillespie, now that is talent.
Wonder what it feels like when your supposed to be the man. Like more important than the governor. But you just don't got it and you aren't the man. Popes smart enough to understand everyone is against him right now.

Gotta be one of the worst feelings.

Well I may be wrong but McBride may have played at Oklahoma State his Freshman year. He has power 5 experience. Probably would be a decent bench piece but I cringe at the thought of him starting.
He has taken a step down each year. B12 -> NEV -> Sun Belt. Numbers only reached double digits in the Sun Belt. Not exactly the career profile that screams greatness.

TBF...that's considerably higher than our nepotism 800+ scholly we just gave out.

Imagine a world where Williams (not Kam, the other one), McBride, Dynes, Noah, nepotism Hawthorne, and Potter are all on a UK roster. Spare me the 13th and 15th man crap @MegaBlue05 . That's six dudes. Only leaves nine other spots. For which we already have five other guys, and I'd say three of them are still pretty big question marks as to what they can produce (Kam, Hawthorne, Wilkins).

Dynes averaged 2ppg, and everyone comparing McBride to Alamanor, whom IMO was a total bust, he averaged 5ppg and was absolutely invisible during most games.
AA could play more minutes and not have a single tally mark in any box score category more than any other player in the history of basketball. Dude could play 20 mins and the box score didn't even know he was on the court.

Sounds like the gov is on top of this....
Yep. ESPN finally got hold of it. I know we all made fun of what was going on at LSU at the time...but I gotta be honest.

They went from Brian Kelley to Lane Kiffin. From Matt McMahon to Will Wade. And they did it in a blink.

I say let Andy cook and see if he can blow this whole mess to high heaven.

McBride-230lbs

15.3 points a game
49.5 from fg range
40.3 from 3 point rangs
78.2 from FT line

What are the complaints here?
Not necessarily complaints though highly doubt he could average 10ppg in the SEC, if that. He’s a great complementary player, though to Pope he’s going to have to be his Jamal Mashburn.

Charles Barkley was 6’6” and could rebound like a mofo. Granted that’s Barkley, but still. If the kid can score and grab 5 or 6 a game on average, I’d take him. I mean who else is gonna sign?

He's an undersized unathletic 4 in the SEC. He's 15ish lbs heavier than Almanor was. Almanor had those same numbers in the same level of league. Almanor averaged 5pts and 1.5 rebounds in the SEC. And that was on a team full of guys that knew how to play that still lost 12 games, finished 6th in the SEC and got boatraced in the S16. I swear, you guys have to understand these numbers DON'T translate. Currently this dude would be slated to play more minutes than AA did, and have a much lesser surrounding cast.

In a nutshell, those are the complaints.

JFC...now we use Barkley in an analogy with some dude that's about 300th in the portal? How can you guys be such rabid fans and not understand things. Barkley was an ELITE athlete. Some of the best hands and feet the game has ever seen. Not to mention he was ridiculously strong. It never ceases to amaze me of the things I read on here.
