Been brought up a couple of times recently. Seems many are having similar issues.

I saw when I was over on the UCF board that some their were complaining about it as well. So must be a Rivals issue.

Stuff like my whole screen goes white and voice starts saying, You are infected please buy "sdfsdfsdfs" program to fix it . I have to X out of everything and reopen before it goes away.

I found a solution:

Common knowledge yahoo is virus ridden.

Suggest eveyone have the latest anti virus sw and for some, upgrade their intel chip set.

Sounds more like a virus than a Rivals issue if that is the case, but I could be wrong.

Go to your control panel and click on the add/remove programs. Do you not recognize one program that you did not install? If you are not sure about one or two of them, Google them to find out what each program is for. I have found some that were installed by updating certain software.

I use ccleaner and it's a good product. you can do the same thing by sorting on date when your in the program. Also look at startup programs.

Yeah I use that as well. I just installed a new AV and it is detecting and blocking a "rouge" program that is trying to run in the background of this website. So it is for sure coming from here. At least I can block it now. If anyone else is having issue try using AVG anti virus so far it seems to pick it up and stop it.

I'm not worried about it. I pay good money to he on here. That money goes a long way towards ensuring a safe site.

I've had some virus kicking my butt. Had the flu shot and I also tested negative for the flu, but it was very flu-like and I was ko'd for several days. I'm better now, but still have this cough that I feel will hang around for a few months. :(

Simple solution. Run adblock never have problems. It blocks rogue scripts from running in the background. They are just trying to get you to click something. Phishing scams can work this way. hell on this page alone i have 9 things blocked from running. There is an additional setting on it once you have it installed to not even "allow some non-intrusive ads" make sure that is unchecked if you really want to block ads. It isnt a virus unless you click it and download something otherwise it is just horrible ads and popups phishing for something or trying to get you to click to install some malware

Install Firefox.

Then add-on Adblock and Noscript. Never deal with ads, malware, viruses, etc. Should be the first thing anyone does with a new device.

Help an old man out with how to do this?
