Best format would have been a four-team tournament with teams from different decades so they wouldn't have the same players, and with the games being only a half. Say 1971 vs. 1983 in one semi, and 1995 vs. 1965 in the other.

Which D lineman got in? Have some good options. Suh, Crick, Wistrom, Carriker, Peters, Glover, Jacobson, maybe even a Gregory.

Gregory wasn’t selected for the game. But he would have been if I was picking the teams.

Matt Herrian over Johnny Mitchell was a head scratcher.

They lost me with crouch instead of gill. Crouch won the heisman but his last 2 games were blowout losses that began the turn of the program downward. I know gill lost but I don't remember a turner gill team ever getting blown out.

It would have been nice to have had two quarterbacks per team, which would have meant the Gill was included. But if there’s only one per team, I don’t see how you can leave off Nebraska’s only Heisman winning quarterback.
