Everyone else has 15-16 losses. NC State has 18.

Is Virginia really that bad??

They haven’t been good start to finish, but they have been playing well lately. I think their strength is pitching which plays in Omaha. They won four straight to win their regional. And they won two in a row after dropping game 1 of the super. That usually indicates pitching depth. They have been more offensive in the postseason. They won their regional on a walk off home run and won the super on a late grand slam. Their coaching staff also has experience winning in Omaha.

I think anyone can win our side of the bracket. Any of the 4 could go 0-2 as well.

Brian O’Connor is an elite, elite coach. Don’t underestimate them. Won’t be shocked at all if they win multiple games next week.

I think the ACC is probably better than anyone gave them credit for. They played largely a conference only schedule and I’d say they probably beat up on each other.

Fresno State lost 31 in 2008 and got hot won the whole thing.

The team to watch in Omaha may be Arizona.

ND was really good. NC State was largely good. Miami beat UF in a series. UVA finished strong. Duke, FSU, and Gte h all solid, so,I’d teams. ACC was pretty dang good this year.

Texas is obviously a really solid team, but I like the fact that the big12 has had a poor showing this postseason. OKState, TCU, and TTech all had pretty disappointing ends to their season. Texas has had a cake walk schedule to Omaha and I’m hoping that our battle tested team can put them into uncomfortable spots on Sunday.

Three things fell into place for them. They heated up a bit late in the season. Then they got put into a regional not hosted by the 1 seed and a 2 seed host that was good early and faded down the stretch. The third break was the three seed on the other side winning their regional and again playing on a neutral field which just happened to be the same one they played their regional.

But heck, people were probably asking if we were that bad in 2018 when we started post season play with 25 losses. We played twice where a win would have put us in the championship series.

As the SPS resident Virginia guy ... no they aren't that bad.

I'd love to see State/Virginia play in Omaha. My family went to see State play the Hoos when they were up here in Charlottesville a few years back.
