Just saw where the state AG who is 3rd in line has admitted to going blackface to a party in the 80s.

FTR I dont think that is a damning offense in and of itself, especially when people are honest about it. Its way in the past and people change.

I mostly agree with you. I don't think doing something stupid 30+ years is automatically *fill in the blank*. For the most part, voters get to decide in the next election, tho I think Va limits Governors to one term (lol @ Virginia) . That said, the Governor has handled this pretty poorly, imo.

ETA - Oh and the LT Gov's story is MUCH worse, imo.

The manner a person handles a situation like putting on blackface 30 years ago as a youth is important to how the public will accept the explanation or apology. Northam has handled this episode very poorly.

The governors handling has been way worse than his act. In PR honesty is the best policy. As for what someone did in the 80s Ithink people should be judged on the whole of their actions and like you said...the voters can decide.

Appears we're almost to the point where Alexander Haig is going to be in charge of Virginia.

At this point, if you're an elected official in Virginia with a D after your last name, just resign.

Agreed, but if it were a Republican or old Trump photos...would the Left be as forgiving? If you're honest, you Damn well know the answer is .....
