IMO it’s disrespectful that these analysts say this kid is better than LeBron and others when they were his age. Victor played against very weak teams in the league he was in. I just don’t get all the hype, shoots only 27% from three and he’s supposed to be this generational talent….. he will end up being a broke man’s Giannis.

Anthony Davis had a ridiculously fast ascent out of nowhere. He entered his junior year in HS at around 6'3"-6'4". He ended it at 6'9". He played at a tiny charter school in Chicago, and had never played on any kind of major AAU team. In the spring of 2010 (right after Calipari's first year at UK), that changed. And it was like someone had dropped a bomb on the recruiting scene. In a matter of a few months, he went from completely unknown to 5 star recruit, then to contender for best player in the class by the end of the summer. Only similar story I remember was Tracy McGrady.

On a different board, there was a guy who totally laughed off the idea that UK was recruiting Davis (which probably started in May 2010, which is right around the time Davis became nationally known) because Davis was so skinny.

The original post here might have aged worse than that hot take.

Wendy is like watching what would happen if an alien played against humans. He’s a complete genetic freak of nature. Nothing about his body makes sense or is normal. Once in 100 years player, not unlike Wilt.

His attitude, humility and drive along with freak body and athleticism will absolutely have him in the GOAT conversation. Well, provided he stays healthy.
