Full practice starts Aug. 7, with limited film work and walkthrough practices in late July.

I know they practiced at Starkville High, but have to hope we have some leaders consistently rounding everyone up for 7 on 7, etc.

Agree. I'm more concerned about the lack of time to install a brand new offense and defense for this fall, though.

I'm a lot more concerned with the defense. KJ is extremely smart and he's already out running the offense with his teammates now in shorts and shirts. This offense is simple and we should be good to go. I'm worried about the defense. Partly because we are going to have a lack of talent and partly because it's a new scheme.

I'm more concerned that we won't play. The way I see it, if we get to see a year of football with Costello, Hill, 5 senior OL, and some mix of these senior, JUCO and transfer WRs, I'll consider that a win. Fans or no fans.

That's still a possibility. But with the money that's at stake, they're going to play if at all possible. We're not seeing any real issues from the Bundesliga playing for almost a month now, so maybe there's hope. Although soccer is a lot fewer players per team, it's still got a lot of close contact on the field for the 22 who are playing.

Fauci's recommendation that players & coaches basically be quarantined from the general public throughout the season makes things interesting for the schools. Will school administrators follow that advice? I guess the players could take classes in the regular online degree programs. Schools probably should offer an online option for as many classes as they can for the next year anyway.

I guarantee you have more injuries this year with virtually no strength and conditioning training leading up to Summer practice.

Fauci is on the record saying they downplayed the importance of masks because they were worried about supplies at the beginning of the quarantine. Now he's saying masks are super important. He's lost his right to talk about this, as has everyone who celebrated the protests last week. Either there's a virus and you can't protest or there's not one and you can do anything you want. But you don't get to pick and choose when people can gather based on the political leanings of those in attendance.

I haven’t really thought of it in this way, but you’re right. I can handle a 5-7 season as long as I get to see some SEC Football.
