The only big name we lost out was lendendouche. He wanted to be the go to guy, we had oweh. Dent wasn't leaving the West Coast. Wilkerson they hired his coach or assistant coach. I guess we could have lost on Pierre I dunno the full story. We had a back up pg who went to villanova. Jasper couldn't play pg and we lost lowe. The gamble on jq was bad too. Maybe we will have luck this year. People are too obsessed with freshmen and byu is out of tourney, so is Kansas with great freshmen. If Arkansas loses today and makes one game further I guess you can say they made it to sweet 16.

When you have eleven players that's almost a full roster. As an upcoming freshmen, you look for playing time, where is the playing time of everyone returns. They won't but still
I think this VERY much moves the needle.
1. The biggest "win" isn't what Jamal Crawford brings to the table. It signals that Mark Pope is willing to hire someone to land a recruit. We've been burned by this since the beginning of time. And I honestly thought Pope was going to be too "clean" to do it. Not that it's against any rule. But I think some purists think it's "bad." Honestly, this will change a lot of my perception of Mark Pope. Because this is a move that says "I'm here to win."
2. Crawford is an assistant at Ranier Beach. The reason you let Hart walk in the middle of the Stokes recruitment is that you have an even better connection to the kid. His son is also a really good player in the class of 2029.
3. Crawford was an elite bucket getter in the NBA. He will do wonders coaching up the guys we have on the offensive side of the ball. I've always thought the best version of Jasper Johnson was Jamal Crawford or Lou Williams.
4. Jamal Crawford will have recruiting juice for the reasons above. Kids will recognize his highlights. Kids will want to learn from him.
People keep asking "What's the connection?" Or "Why would Crawford want to come here?"
Crawford is an assistant for a high school team. It stands to reason he wants to coach basketball. I think most people with aspirations would rather be an assistant at a Power 5 college than a high school--even their alma matter.
Crawford also has that connection to Stokes. And if he's wanting to move up, leveraging that connection makes a lot of sense.
