The Line problems appear as though they will not go away and maybe can fix themselves with experience'

Without knowing how farniok is at center this year it is hard to say to simply pull Jurgens. But I do think most of the offensive bigger issues are from poor timing as a result of poor snaps....combined with spotty line play.

Frost will not pull Martinez (injury excluded) . He says that Adrian is playing well and is improving every game. Obviously Frost has hung his hat on Adrian and that is where it will stay. Regardless of how well Vedral plays (I thought he looked impressive running the offense today).

My question is...when have we had a real chance to see Vedral pass anything? Spring doesn't count. Adrian has not been throwing well in any game this year.

Anyone else think that Vedral might be the best QB in the nation?

For me, it just comes down to giving the backup a shot when the starter has failed miserably for an extended period. I don't think Vedral is the best or has the best NFL arm. But he just might be the best game qb for us this season.

Since we don't really throw the ball more than about 20 yards downfield anyway, I don't think Vedral's arm will limit the offense this season.

Zac Taylor was a WAY better thrower of the football than Vedral. I think we can win with Vedral but our best chance at being great is fixing Martinez once he’s healthy enough to play.
The comparison was to arm strength; Taylor was very accurate, but his arm wasn't very strong. Yes, the AM of last year is one of the best qb's in the country. That guy is gone at the moment and hopefully Vedral can offer a good solution until AM finds himself.

I posted what is important to me, this team and fans... damn sure isn’t the skin color agenda you’re pushing.
I’m done.

I want the best out there. I don’t give a rats *** about his skin color.

Exactly, I want somebody that comes in, in crunch time and doesn't **** himself and capable of leading a game winning drive.

I don't give a damn if it's a 40 year old, walk on, tenth string, 5 foot 6 Asian, with a peg leg.

Not sure how good he is since we have only seen him for a couple of series. Is he good? i highly doubt it, however he showed some heart, which can go a long ways.

The nebrasksa backup QB always the most popular player on the team..

Geezus people have lost their freaking minds. Martinez is 10x the QB vederal is and it isn't even close

Vederal looked decisive because he was given like 3 plays to run. And they were in rinse and repeat. Smartest fans in America my ***. Good lord people are freaking dumb.

He ran well, no doubt, but we haven’t seen him throw it enough to know how he will be in that department. He threw 5 passes today, completing 2 of them. One a screen and the big one to wandale.

He also threw a backwards pass which made me crap a brick, but fortunately our RB caught it. The backwards pass was not by design, that’s for sure.

I liked what I saw out of his running. Can’t say that he is a better passer off of the limited action we saw today. But he did come up big for us when we needed it, which was huge.

the coaches got in arians head to much to play it safe, which would be ok if our line blocked and receivers were open....we don't have that luxury.
play vedral if martinez is injured and give him some time to think about playing how he did last year, fast and loose

Yeah that was scary. If Martinez had thrown that, I'm sure many heads here would have exploded.

Vedral did what the coaches asked, and he certainly deserves credit for that. And this was his first exposure to the terrible snaps, so the fact that he struggled with those isn't on him - it's a problem that absolutely has to be fixed regardless of who is at QB.

My concern going into Minnesota isn't that Vedral will drag down the offense. It's that the offense has so many problems that no QB this side of Trevor Lawrence can really be expected to fix them.

When you run tentative you get hurt, should be the message, hell Luke ran with more power on his one run!
Yeah Martinez came up gimpy on a few runs, and each time the reason was he wasn't running as hard as he could or should have.

I agree but 6 games in he hasn't been fixed so it's best to give someone else a shot for now.

Seems to me Adrian is thinking a bit much on some plays. I forget when in the first half but there was one 3rd and something where Adrian had room to pick up the 1st down but threw an incomplete pass.. plays like that are what Frost means when he wants an I-back at the QB spot- make the play with your legs, move the chains and let's pick up 6 in the next drive etc..

Hell, he had a wide open JD on that play and plenty of room to run for the first. Kid had all day there and hesitated up to the end which resulted in a punt. That play was all on Martinez..

That was a big WTF moment for me..

Oh come on - I like McCaffrey a lot and have said that I think he will make a push for the starting job this spring. But today he was told to take one snap and run a QB dive. How did that make him look confident?
Yeah, my comment was waaaay stupid. In my defense, I was on my third bourbon when I wrote that. Lol. What all of my in-game posts were trying to say is how disappointed I am in the play of Martinez this year. But he is our starter and hopefully will get better as the season unfolds. But he needs help from our offensive line and receivers. And geez can we find a center who can snap the damn ball?

Oh come on. There are a few people on here who have been irrational and silly with their criticism of Martinez. And I have been a huge defender of Martinez and criticized his criticizers. But there is now no denying that Martinez is struggling. His passes are very often off the mark, his running is slow and hesitant, and his decision making suspect (like throwing an incomplete pass on 3rd and 5 when you have 15 yards of unoccupied green turf in front of you). He also seems to linger too long in the pocket. So fans are rightfully wondering if the less talented athlete, Vedral, might not be a better option right now since he doesn’t seem freighted with whatever mental baggage is weighing down Martinez.

I want Martinez back. He is the better athlete, and the only way for him to overcome his problems is on the field. He is our future, not Vedral. Nevertheless, fans who think Vedral adds a much needed spark to this offense are not just being silly ... they have eyes.

Exactly. With our inept OLine (also with the nation's worse center) any back-up qb for us is going to have rough sledding.
