Veazey sent a link to what I am assumiong to be an official scheduling board for basketball teams. Currently, there are 4 teams looking to have home and homes with good prospective teams that I would give a call to try and work something between the schools.. Stephen F. Austin Univ. (I believe they are dancing), Arizona State University (Would be a great series), Penn State Univ. (A lesser little 11 team but better than UT-Corpus Christi Community college of arts, science, and technology or whatever their name was that we played this year), and Nevada Wolfpack (would be a nice test). I think adding 1-3 of these would be the kind of schedule changes that we need and we can drop a Delta State or S.Eastern Louisiana for them. We would still have some patsies, but not all garbage teams in pre-conference!

...Looks like we have a long way to go to get it finished. Damn. Somebody get us with Arizona State. Now.
Looking for a guarantee game(s) to be played in November, December 2010
and January 3 or 4, 2011, including one to be played in Jackson, MS on
December 29. Also looking to start 3 H/H series (2 at home and 1 on
road).

offer to play a neutral - neutral series starting in Oklahoma City. They are very specific that they want a Top 50 RPI program to play (guess we're SOL on that one!). Also Arizona State and USC need home and homes. Wonder if Kansas would take us for their guarantee game?

Someone would have to explain to him what BCS means in a basketball connotation.

I don't love giving up what would be a huge home game to play in Memphis, but I can see the upside of selling the Mississippi Fab Five on that event. If Rick doesn't want to do that, just play them in the Hump. That's a great series to pursue.

I think we should pull a football, and schedule the hardest schedule in the WORLD next year. Minnesota has shown that even if you lose, you still get in..

I guess we also didn't get the BCS H/H that we were looking for, unless it was UCLA.

MSU's scheduled to play in a tournament in Hawaii during Christmas.

From KV's blog entry:

Mississippi State will play in the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii next year, the school announced Tuesday night. The tournament will be played on Dec. 22, 23 and 25 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and will include Butler, Baylor, Florida State, San Diego, Utah, Hawaii and a team to be determined later.

“The competition is the key,” MSU coach Rick Stansbury said. “It’s going to be great teams, really great teams.”
